Two of the stand alone teams are from Queensland too (Aspley/Southport).

Calling it the VFL makes no sense, but also of no surprise. 22 teams in a 16 round competition too.

There's also the whole u/19 thing for the NAB League (after the AFL forced the SANFL to change from u/17's-u/19's to u/18's in the late 2000's), but I digress.

Judged by being the #1 pick, being made Captain so early at Melbourne and then getting paid a shit ton of money by GWS. Certainly didn't live up to his draft position or salary, but he was a good player for a while, especially at GWS

Was the highest paid player in the comp for a while. Good player but worth nowhere near what they were paying.

GWS took the punt on him begin the next superstar after his few years at Melbourne show this but injuries set him back big time.
