How about Sutton getting annoyed yesterday after this question:

An exchange between a reporter and CHO Brett Sutton

What a ridiculous question. I'd be annoyed at that too and question the mental faculties of the person who asked it.

At the same time though, this bit:

CHO: There will be people who continue to get sick and die. When you've got coverage of everyone over 65 years of age, that means you've reduced the risk across the population very substantially but there are literally thousands of individuals in hospitals as we speak in their 30s and 40s and 50s who are dying or who are desperately unwell.

According to the covidlive website - right this second - there are literally 0 individuals in either ICU or hospitals as we speak. That's not quite thousands.

Yeah that's a bit much. Wonder why people don't trust them, and reporters want to ask questions when they pull this shit.
Has there ever been thousands ever?

Unless he's referencing what's happening overseas where that is the case

They shouldn't do that. We live on an island continent. The largest island continent in the world with a population of 25 million.
California for example has 40 million in a place one and a half times the size of Victoria.
They shouldn't say shit like that.

Someone just texted me this. Made me laugh

My boss invited me around for dinner his wife said how many potatoes would u like ? I said one she said u don't have to be polite I said ok I'll have one u stupid campaigner

I wonder how many times that sort of thing with the hotel transfer has happened but we just didn't previously hear about it

Good luck with Centrelink if you need to go through with the application

One thing for all folks is check out if your entitled to a low income health care card from Centrelink, especially if anyone has any medical costs which it can help cover
Ta. Yeah cheap rego would be good.

There's a few Government subsidies you could receive off your gas and electricity bills as well if you have a valid health care card. Works out to be roughly 17.5% of your usage and supply charges, less whatever discounts you're receiving from your utilities company. There's also a $250 credit you can have applied to your electricity account simply by registering at compare.energy.vic.gov.au.

Not to mention the utility relief grant scheme (URGS) where you can apply to receive up to $650 off your bills every 2 years (or $1300 if you only have electricity and not gas). Can even apply for that on your water as well. Amazing how many people who have a valid concession card in Victoria aren't aware of that.

My mum used to work at Centrelink (28 years, so going back to when it was Social Security) and towards the end of her time there her primary focus was processing health care cards - definitely been given a lot of advice over the years about them

My favourite is that I had one when I was working part-time, then was earning too much when I started full time but after a period of full-time work I was able to start salary packaging - the way my payslip was set out, it put my income back below the threshold & I was able to get a low income health care card again; definitely nice for cutting train costs

Actually, you don't even need to have a concession card to apply for URGS. As long as you earn less than $2067 a f/n before tax as a single and have had a significant decrease in your income, or an increase in essential expenses (medical costs, car repairs or having to repair or replace a major appliance) or your cost of housing (rent or mortgage payments) is more than 30% of your income you are eligible to apply. And the best thing - you don't need to fill out the forms yourself now. As of late last year, energy retailers are required to offer assistance in completing the form on your behalf over the phone. However, if you don't have a concession card, you will need to supply some supporting documentation (payslips, bank statements etc) to accompany the application.
