Just realised today is the day off at Wimbledon. Can’t watch the tennis now 😞

In regards to the Olympics, I'm not sure about others, but I'm getting sick of those in the media (such as breakfast television) who just keep saying the same meh names for our flag bearers - yes we can have 2 flag bearers this year, 1 male & 1 female

I keep hearing Cate Campbell's named mentioned as someone who should be our flag bearer because this is her 4th Olympics;

Now that some are aware they can have 2 flag bearers it's Andrew Hoy who should be the other because he's going to his 8th - and yes that's a fantastic achievement, but he carried the flag into the Atlantic games

Why is Patty Mills name not being mentioned more - he's going to his 4th Olympics, he's bled green & gold throughout his career and he also does a lot with the indigenous community back in Aus. Plus, we're also taking our biggest indigenous representation to an Olympic Games so why not have at least one indigenous flag bearer

I believe this is the last year they'll be doing that dumb af Sunday day off rubbish. Next year they'll play on Sunday.

Never really knew they had an 11pm curfew either. Srsly the British are a bunch of softcocks. Here we go all night and morning when the occasion arises. :thumbsupv1:

Is there a curfew at Wimbledon?
Yes, the curfew was set by Merton Council at 11pm.
Outdoor events usually have an 11pm finish under UK licensing laws, because of health & safety concerns.
Before the roof was installed on Centre Court, play ended when the light failed.

What is the latest a match has been played?
The first record for a late match was between Andy Murray and Stan Wawrinka, when rain and the roof saw their fourth round match finish at 10.38pm.
Then in 2010, a match between Novak Djokovic and Olivier Rochus finished at 10.58pm - prompting the curfew by Merton Council.

Has the curfew been broken?
Yes, once.
On June 30, 2012, Andy Murray's third round win over Marcos Baghdatis ran until 11.02pm, in spite of the curfew.
However, no action was taken against the All England Club.

Merton Council's leader at the time, Stephen Alambritis, said "flexibility and common sense prevailed".

I believe that where Wimbledon is located is in a more residential area compared with the location of the Aus Open where we can play later into the night. Guess it's similar to how at KP the lights have a curfew & have to be switched off by 11pm

Can't really blame the locals for wanting some sort of curfew - just annoying for the athletes

Guess it's a lesson to not build sporting stadiums/arenas/precincts in residential areas

I never understand this like at Subi over here, maybe don't move in next door to a sports stadium if you don't like it.

There's always some kind of negatives..

I have a tram nearby, but I actually dont mind the noise of the trams passing by. Train is further in the distance tho, thank god.
I live near the airport right under the flight path. It seriously doesn't bother me.
Maybe for the first week.
