Not prepared for how emotional the sight of our players simply doing pre-season training back home at our proper training ground in Melbourne would make me.

That's 2020 for you.

He came from a very long way back though, and really established himself late in 2018. He was a project player.
He is definitely best 22 now.
His best is best 22 but will he show it?

I'm not sure we can confidently proclaim him best 22 just yet. If he's in the side R1 then we'll have a better reflection of where the coaching panel sees him.

He needs continual games at the expense of others in the side, not just because we get two midfield injuries. I'd also be willing to declare him best 22 once he's in a position when he comes straight into the side after being declared fit after an injury layoff.

I really love Sier though so I'd be rapt to have him take a spot and hold it.

Well he’s got one less quality mid to compete against so that’s something.

Was Rupert Wills a project player?

21 games so indeed a project player.

There’s nothing holding him back, midfield spots have opened up with Treloar and Beams gone, as well as his main competition in Wills. It’s all there for the taking, Sier needs to grab the opportunity as it won’t be there for long. I seem to recall he cracked the sads when Beams was recruited in 2019 and dropped his bundle. Hopefully he’s matured and can get back to the form he displayed in 2018.

This is true Pendles and Sidebottom lets face it are coming to the end.

Will was a mature age selection taken from our VFL side. Not really a project player as such, as he was already physically developed when he was drafted.

I think so. He was looking terrific in the back end of 2018 but injuries have curtailed him. Unless Jordy goes in there full time, we don't have any big blokes in the midfield - it's a massive need and he's the only one of that type on our list.
I think he'll play round 1 and stay in all year, proving to be an excellent player.

Agree with all that.

No. He was a mature body in the VFL.
Sier was an absolute punt. It was widely reported that we went very early on him at pick 32 and we picked him as a raw kid with some excellent attributes. He was the definition of a project player.

Need to see it 1st

I think we have previously. Treloar out means he's first cab off the rank, too.
