I think its trading with Victorian clubs that is the problem.
They went nuts over the Higgins to saints trade also.

If Xerri has cracked the sads and wants to leave because of CCJ then good riddance..there is probably only two (GWS/*) clubs that he’d be higher up the depth chart than he is for us anyway. Obviously has mentally conceded that Edwards will be a better player than him

yeah, reckon that was pretty much the case with X himself over Preuss as well. At the end of the day, look at the athleticism of talls like Jackson, us with comben and edwards who hopefully make it, and exiting BBB. I sense the days of lumbering big men lacking in agility is over. Goldy not the quickest but makes up for it with a massive tank that few can go with. Haven't seen enough of CCJ to know where he falls in but at least offers flexibility of being able to take a mark and hit the scoreboard.

I agree with you but to solve their inside mid depth issue I can see port picking him up, probably for nothing which is fine

I'm not sure he gets the chances he expects next year if he goes to the Saints.
The Saints want him so Marshall can play permanent KPF.
But Ryder is going around again in the ruck.
He will be a bit part player at St Kilda.

no more so than Preuss going to melbourne with Gawn there and picked up Jackson in the draft.....only to go to GWS and be behind a ruckman who came out of retirement and Flynn.

Dumont is a FA.
They wouldn't need to trade for him.
And we would 100% get compo if he left as a FA.
He would be so far down the pecking order for a mid spot at GWS he would never get a game.
Goldys kids live in Melbourne he is not leaving.

Yet Richmond think they can give us a pick worth less than compo for Tarrant via a trade! Strange world we live in.

Who cares? We’ve got the number 1 pick, pick 20, it drops off a lot after that. We’ve got a shitload of young talent and I’m grateful none of them have asked for a trade and the older blokes I’d rather keep around. Maybe we’ll do something with future picks, backing us in to improve next year, but tbh I’ll be happy to cruise through the trade period, take the best kid in the country in the draft and if we snag CCJ with pick 40 then great. Personally I think we should be focusing on getting more picks in the first and second round, not go after players. We’re just not in that stage of the rebuild yet. Leave that sh*t to Carlton.

Thought about what I was posted and decided to take it down.
Things are really looking up for North and I'm keen to see it.
Just want to get properly involved in the trade period.
Seems like its just been carlton, collingwood and st kilda the last few years.
