Would your Club entertain taking Jordan Dawson in the PSD?

When (since Nick Stevens) has a club taken a player in the PSD who has nominated another club, especially a club in a different state to the one he has nominated?

Will never happen and the AFLPA will get their knickers in a knot until the new EBA until hopefully clubs can trade players anywhere they like.

Nothing to do with player retention.

Revisionist history if you don't think your supporter base was stoked to get rid of Zak Jones, Gary Rohan and Hannebery either.


You also aren't going to get any sympathy here given the fact you annex most of NSW and have been gifted priority access to how many top 10 picks from your Academy in the last 6 years?

I am not sure why this is not just simply the path of least resistance here.

We get what we want without giving up draft picks.
they get what they want without spoiling their compo.

Surely you aren't kidding right? I would swap being a talent incubator for the wealth of Academy talent that comes the way of northern clubs in an instant.

The other three northern clubs have suffered way worse than us.

And yep I was delighted Bonehead Jones, horribly cooked Hanners and the execrable, specialiaast Finals choker - Rohan were palmed off.

I simply asked an innocent question about Dawson.

Thousands of kids go through the Academy and end up rusted on players in minor comps. No way can the Northern Clubs fill their lists with home grown players.

We actually missed out on a kid, the same age as Heeney and immeasurably better because Manly chucked a truckload of cash at him when he was 17.

The point remains though, you get more than you lose. We'd take that in an instant.

Just on last year alone, two highly rated players via Academy rolled your way. And good luck to you, it's structured that way so you can take advantage of it.

And on the other northern clubs, what draft concessions have the Suns gotten whilst winning more games in the same period as the Roos have?

End of the day, I hear your gripe but it's like the fat kid with all the lollies and ice cream he could ever want complaining that the kid across the road got their first treat in a month and he missed out.
