Or did we just develop them poorly?

A lot thought Billings was a pretty good choice, elite ball user. Exactly what we needed
Those who said we say we should have gone Bont are doing so in hindsight imo

I reckon we made the right choice at the time but developed him poorly and rather than encouraging him to take the game on tried to get him to play within a set framework. That and his case of the yips a few years back stifled him.

Dunstan and Acres have both had there moments and once again I do wonder if we had developed them better if they would be different players.
we only need JB to have one elite year. Just one

Dare I say it, but Owens is having a Bont like charge up the rankings atm. COVID breaks might be a blessing in disguise to the saints this year. Kid has been stellar

Bont was playing mids for his school and getting 50 possessions and 14 goals type of shit. Owens will have to step up the outrageous performances to come in to top 5 calculations but he's having a crack.

And yet we were screaming for mids and still overlooked him
Bont in the centre with steelo would be froffage personified

I think we will offer Carlise a contract if we believe his body is up to it.

Good chance his back is shot through and he won't be able to make it back into the team.
They did that this year.

Hanners takes a voluntary pay cut. Seems like Billings may go, and his contract would have been significant; he was playing great football in the first half of 2019 when he signed.

Snake won't be on huge money but surely that comes off the books too, he looks to be cooked unfortunately and wasn't getting selected before the injury.

Max already locked away. Where does the money get spent?
Steele as next year his contract finishes. He took unders last year

How did people find Ross's game last night? I didn't think he was poor but something just felt off about it. Am I just looking too much into it considering he's not contracted yet and there was that shit from Caro earlier in the season?

He has been playing like that all season. I've been saying that him and Billings missing we would not notice them. One was out last night and the other wasn't too crach hot.

Get whatever we can for both and move them on. Save ourselves a roughly 800k for both and use the picks to move up the ladder or package it up to get something decent.

can't kick, throws it on the boot 70 percent of the time

Was an interesting moment last night when Ross had no options coming off halfback, so gave a loopy 10m handball that fell short and then the next player kicked it out on the full. Some one gave him a bit of a mouthful. The way he reacted I reckon it was one of ours and he did not seem impressed. Think he told them where to go.

EDIT: Maybe it is the one Mowman is referring to?

I reckon he has been alright this year but has had a few off moments. Your right in that he is probably replaceable but can imagine that he is one of those players that you realise how much he does off the ball once he is gone.

Imagine bont, Steele, petracca with Marshall tapping it down.

I hate football sometimes...
The thing is if we draft Bont maybe we don't end up with the number 1 pick to get Petracca. Or if we have Bont and Petracca maybe we don't get Steele because of cap space or players needs.

We look at the players we missed and assume we still get the same players down the line. Would we have King still? Possibly. Would we have had better success to this point. Maybe. Or maybe we'd struggle even more than we are. We'll look at other players we would've drafted and we'll be discussing why the hell did we get that guy instead this guy who is obviously better.
