Not many rucks can take the ball out of the middle like he did in that recently posted attachment. Wonder what his marking skills are like? Think Aliir type stuff down the track

Was thinking the same. Chol looks like such a versatile athlete, he could potentially play anywhere.

Who is Downie ?
I found him , you on the wacky weed again , he hasn't played since 2017

Playing well in the VFL. Is prime age to start playing regular ruck.

Given his age and attributes, he can a) Learn from Paddy and really improve his ruck work, or b) Potentially play at CHB.....I understand its a bit of a gamble, and I concede, I haven't see enough of him to know if its even a possibility, but it may just be worth a crack. He could rotate ruck/fwd/CHB for a few years until Heath is ready and then settle in at CHB?

You're always looking for the "answer" gringo.

If we're to believe the scuttlebutt the "answer" is Ben King and Marshall rucks on his own which it %100 fine by me.

Chol is then 2nd in line till Heath pushes him out.
Paddy 34yo
Roma 26yo
Chol 25yo
Heath 19yo

Looks pretty good to me.

Paddy makes our pedestrian midfield look much better when he plays. Marshall is good at taking the ball out of the ruck himself but his tap work is just okay. I see Chol as more a Marshall than a Paddy so am looking at guys with size and tap work. I think we will be having a look at Flynn ad Briggs types to try to get a proper ruck in.

As you said if King comes next year I think one has to do some back up ruck so Chol probably doesn't play.

And I think that's the thing with him, he's a jack of all trades type. Not quite a KP not quite a dominant ruck. He is a guy who will make highlight reels but not always offer consistent performance. He's worth a look but he's getting bit overhyped.

He may well be, but I think it's a difficult sell.

He's one I hope we are talking to though. There's been talk about him wanting out for a few months now.

Id like to think that if they are good enough, the new ruckman would be playing at least 12+ games next year as we would want to not overload Paddy and keep him cherry ripe for finals.
They should consider 2022 as an audition for the 1st ruck position when Paddy moves on (maybe as soon as 2023). This should be a selling point for any prospective player.

I can't see us only playing Paddy in 10 games unless he's injured for a fair chunk of the season.

If he's fit we might look at resting him 4 or 5 times maybe, but he's too important to play less than half the season.

Can we update this to reflect Zac Jones's contract? It annoys me every time lol

"3. ZAK JONES. Age: 26 Games: 119 Status: Signed to 2023

Powerful return against Brisbane Lions in Round 17 summed up his importance. After missing 10 weeks the stoppage star had 10 clearances, 26 disposals and changed the dynamic of the midfield. But frequent soft-tissue setbacks are making life hard."
Not sure if this means he is signed ofr the 2023 season or up to 2023 meaning just 2022 but he's definetly not OOC and should be afely removed from the pinned chart

I am all for letting Seb and dunny walk and dipping into the following names or draft to replace them;

Dawson - then we can stop trying to manufacture a tall wingman.
Parker
Wallis
Hewitt
Lipinski
Narkle
Dow
