I'd be pretty happy to go into 2023 with this side. Looks well balanced with plenty of midfield options and a good mixture of youth and experience by then.

Wilkie - Howard - Paton
Highmore - Schlenslog - Sinclair
Windhager - Steele - Hill
Higgins - Bing - Billings
Membrey - Ming - Gresham

Marshall - Clark - Ward/Hobbs/Sonsie

Crouch, Jones, Coffield, Owens, Bytel, Byrnes, Sharman

If we can't get an key defender the I think we have to develop Allison in that role.
I’m with you on this one Bird man.
Although i would be;

Wilke - Howard - Schlenslog
Highmore - Connelly - Sinclair

Windhager - Steele - Hill

Higgins - Bing - Gresham
Sharman - Ming - Membrey

Marshall - Crouch - Jones

Int; Bytel, Byrnes, Owens, Sinn/Sonsie/Ward, Clarke, Coffield, Heath

Not an easy task to name that list but it’s an exciting future.

Yeah might be a good shout.
I have big doubts on Allison. He was plucked out of nowhere and looks a long way off it. But I've been wrong a lot of times before. And vfl hasn't been able to do much for player development

You'll be wrong again about Allison

Gold Coast Suns are most probably going trade off load one of there high draft picks knowing they will have to up the salaries of quite a few next year , I wouldn't be surprised if they off load Rankine , Crows have most probably been looking at him from when he was drafted.

Rankine is the one player who has publicly stated that he wants to stay with the Suns. He would be the last player they should trade. If they did then just wind them up and hand their licence to Tasmania.

I think King and Lukosius are more likely to leave. The Suns need to stop the bleeding with them and secure the next batch of lads that includes Rowell and Anderson. I think that is their best hope.

Out of the last 6 sides left in the comp, Port are probably the side that sets up like that.

Dogs, Dees, Geelong, Brisbane and the Giants all went in with at least two genuine tall key defenders.

They then usually have their Highmore types around them.
Mobility is what big defenders lose out in. I think the guys you are talking about in the other defences ( not Port) at least have mobility, intercept marking and capacity to run off.
Smart defenders use everything they have rather than relying on size.

Ryan Daniels doesnt get much wrong. Neale going to request a trade back to Freo!

Brisbane paid pick 4 to Fremantle for Neale. Since then he has won a Brownlow and is under contract. He is worth more now.

Peter Bell will be paying their first round draft draft pick from the Cerra trade plus another first.

Can’t believe the Neale situation. Why did he go to brisbane in the first place
Didnt he crack it at Ross the Boss?

Hope Freo learn form the Beams debarkle. Different situations but dont want to pay too much

Looks like he left Fremantle because of the coach

It’s going to be funny watching Peter Bell.

He’ll play hard ball with Carlton trading an OOC Adam Cerra, but will argue that for compassionate reasons it’s important for Lachie Neale to be traded home.

Brisbane should demand the Cerra first rounder and Fremantle’s current first rounder. Neale is contracted, Brisbane hold the whip hand.
