Rankine is the one player who has publicly stated that he wants to stay with the Suns. He would be the last player they should trade. If they did then just wind them up and hand their licence to Tasmania.

I think King and Lukosius are more likely to leave. The Suns need to stop the bleeding with them and secure the next batch of lads that includes Rowell and Anderson. I think that is their best hope.
If we miss Bing you know we will go hard for Anderson…

Can’t believe the Neale situation. Why did he go to brisbane in the first place
Freo told him to go. They wanted Hogan and had been trying to get that trade done years and years leading up to it.

I heard the original swap continually sold was neale to Melbourne.

That’s just attention grabbing stuff
Ross has had a very good career , but every year a huge amount of talented midfielders enter the AFL and makes it tough for any player to hold out some of these supremely talented naturally gifted kids. You only have to look at a guy like Dunstan he by no means a useless player but in today's game if your slow and can't kick no one wants you even if he is a top clearance winner.

Thought he didn't get along with Ross

Was told about the neale to Hogan thing years before the trade actually happened.

Hogan's or Neales manager was telling some guy who was posting on freos board.

It never got off the ground and then it finally got going when Melbourne were willing to trade him. The kicker was they weren't interested in neale.

I dont think neale minded ross much but it ended badly. Really bad. I think they were pushing him out the door to get Hogan. When that happens it never ends politely. To the point you could hear the exit interview down the hallway behind closed doors.

Mobility is what big defenders lose out in. I think the guys you are talking about in the other defences ( not Port) at least have mobility, intercept marking and capacity to run off.
Smart defenders use everything they have rather than relying on size.
They may well be much more mobile in the modern game but every good side bar Port is still running with at least two tall genuine key defenders.

Highmore is our next biggest behind Howard and he isnt suited to playing key position which leaves Wilkie at 191.

All the other good sides have at least two 195cm plus

Now the Rory Lobb news makes heaps more sense

You could hear Rocket Eade behind closed doors too. Just ask Will Minson

Melbourne have 1 at 195 and 193

We’ll we’ll have to disagree, I think you are looking to closely at measurements rather than what a player can do.

I dont think I am.

As I said, I don't think Highmore is suited to playing key position. Not because of his size but the way he plays.

Edit: I also think the best sides are able to utilise their intercept types because they two genuine key defenders to free then up.
