Apart from talls are there some gun inside mids we could be looking to pick up. Obviously Nick moves into midfield and there's DeGoey and Adams and I got hopes for others developing but it is an issue we need to improve in

Assuming our first pick is around 15 - do you use it in the best kid available (likely a mid)?
Or trade it out for a ready made like Tarranto?

According to Hine, yes. He said they'd go with best available with iyr 1st

Cadman will be the first key forward drafted, unfortunately lol Twomey has him at 5.

Jefferson at 10

Keeler at 29
Keep in mind this is Twomey’ phantom form guide, which can be very different to his phantom drafts. Same as Knightmare’s own power rankings were very different to his phantoms (albeit more extreme than Twomey typically).
Pretty sure Cal had Nick at number 1 most of the year last year before his phantoms, which had him at 3 or 4 due to the club info he got.
Cadman being number 5 on his form guide doesn’t mean a whole lot right now, just that Cal rates him there, not that recruiters necessarily do.

Ben Hobbs is a perfect example here. He was drafted at 13. Guess who was at 5 on Cal’s phantom form guide last August?

Of course.
Its not where clubs will pick them, but cal's best ranking players. Its his phantom draft that is more telling, closer to the draft.

Any contested clearance pigs that don’t mind putting their face in the trough likely to slip down the order?

Adam D’Aloia is the one for me.

The below article from earlier in the year sums him up pretty perfectly. I reckon he is being undervalued for what he does well and could be an amazing value pickup based on our needs.

FYI another good comparison could be Taylor Adams.

…………….………………………
SOUTH AUSTRALIA’S ‘CONSUMMATE PROFESSIONAL’

There’s a lot of similarities between Adam D’Aloia – one of South Australia’s best players this year – and Jack Graham – one of South Australia’s best players in 2016 that has gone on to win three flags at Richmond.

Graham won the Larke Medal for the best player at the Under 18 national championships in 2016, racking up disposals at will as an inside midfielder and leading his state superbly as skipper. Yet there was a sense recruiters were focusing more on what Graham couldn’t do, rather than what he could. Ultimately, he slipped to Richmond at Pick 53 in the national draft later that year – and now the Tigers are laughing.

Like Graham, inside midfielder D’Aloia six years later is his state’s captain and No. 1 ball-winner. On Sunday against Vic Metro, he booted 1.1 from 27 disposals, a game-high 17 contested possessions and 11 clearances.

On numbers alone, D’Aloia should be in first-round calculations. But will recruiters focus on his flaws rather than his strengths come the draft?

If Sheehan had his way, D’Aloia would be among the top 2022 prospects.

“He’s the consummate professional,” Sheehan told Fox Footy.

“His form at Under 17 and Under 19 state level last year was fantastic too. Every time he steps out for SA, he’s won plenty of the footy.

“He’s a captain, a leader and he’s just a footballer. He’s not necessarily quick, but he’s in the right spots at the right time.”

Exactly, so let’s not just assume we need a top 5 pick for Cadman just because Cal has him there in August. A lot of water still to go under the bridge at this point.

Does everything well bar the one thing that really counts, the ball leaves his boot like a shot duck and that's why he's not rated highly.

I think you are over stating his lack of foot skills. At his worst he is still better than Adams. But personally I think he is still better than that.

I think it’s more his lack of elite burst from the contest that he is criticised for most.

Regardless if we could get him mid second round (getting a pick somehow) it would be a bargain.

We have been burnt every time trading our early picks.

It’s pointless talking about needs and gaps. You take the best kid available at your pick, irrespective of position.

Unless of course we can trade up the order to nab a player we need.

Trading pick 14 for Jolly went well

I Would trade our first this year for Hopper every day of the week

Thoughts on this trade:

2022 first rounder + JDG for Pick 1?

It's probably too cheap for Norf but I'd love for us to consider targeting the number one selection. Then we'd have the capital to further trade. Pick 1 could easily become multiple first round selections.
Your desperation to get rid of Jordy is becoming pathetic.

Ew. We are literally right in the midst of a flag tilt, with De Goey as one of the most crucial parts of that.
