McInnes shown that he's 'more than adept'? I don't think we have seen enough of him to determine his worth up forward.

I'm more than comfortable in what I've seen to make the call. He's managed 10 or 11 goals across 14 or 15 AFL-VFL games. Would likely have more if he wasn't also playing midfield time and all too often getting subbed out. Let me know when you catch up with the Reef bandwagon.

I was a big fan of Johnson till the preliminary final when he did not fire a shot. He needs to reprove himself next year. He is certainly more suited to a CHF role than Henry, but I suspect Henry will eventually be the more damaging player, though not as a key forward.

I think Johnson offers greater flexibility given his size and age (more physically developed). Still seems best suited to the 3rd tall role and given we'll likely have at least 2 of McStay, Cox/Cameron and Checkers keeping him company, that's the luxury that's afforded him.

I also think reef has looks comfortable at afl level right from his debut.

Everyone should recall I’ve been a reef fan since his draft, before he was drafted in fact [emoji23]

I wouldn’t think we’d take both Keeler and Barnett. It’s probably one or the other.

What you like about Charlie Clarke?

He’s X-factor personified.

He’s always involved and makes himself dangerous. Plus likes to apply defensive pressure and also bring teammates into the game.

Also has the ability to find his own ball and link up in scoring chains.

I really do think Billy Elliott is an amazing player comparison. Maybe he doesn’t leap like Jamie, but let’s be honest, Jamie doesn’t jump like Jamie, since his back surgery.

In time he probably also has the ability to go into the middle for short bursts like Jamie too.

Our list profile says that we don't require any more midfielders or flankers. I'm confident that GW will take Hayes at 16 if he's there and probably Lemmey at 25 and Barnett at 27. If Hayes isn't there at 16 then we might take midfielder like Ed Allen who is 194cm and the fastest at the combine. But I share your sentiment about Hine, his sphincter would pulsating with every tall we take
As much as you seem to detest Hine, he still has the final say on the players we select in the draft. Obviously as the list manager GW has significant input, but when push comes to shove, he needs to trust Hine to identify the best possible talent at our pick.

I've been a big fan of Charlie all year. He covers a lot of ground in some of his link up plays. The only thing with him is do we need another small forward/mid? He's played some great games in the midfield this year also

Just stumbled across Baseline’s youtube channel again (which I had forgotten about) and found they had uploaded a highlights video from the Vic Metro v Vic Country final.

I always like the way Basline shoot their videos from ground level and follow the play. At least for me it really shows how the player reacts and moves through traffic

Enjoy!

NB. Here’s Harley Reid for anyone interested in seeing how good this kid is.

Only bloke to pick himself as the no 1 pick when asked.

I played with his old man at Woodville West Torrens ( The Eagles ) and I hope his son isn’t anything like his dad as a person.
He's really good though, I rate above some of the more fancied names like Sheezel

An Elliott replacement would be a worthy addition to the list. I don’t see the need for another pure mid but someone like that certainly wouldn’t hurt.

Michael T: Are we considering Josh Weddle at all as a KD? Lot of strings to his bow so to speak.

Reported last week.

“Busslinger, Jefferson, Hayes, Weddle, Michalanney, Keeler and Phillips will be in our thoughts.”

we definitely need another young classy mid
sheesh

Yes. I could have my numbers wrong. But I thought we were now down to 31 on the senior list - not including Noble - meaning we still need to add four more to the senior list after Noble to make the minimum? Could upgrade another rookie - but I don't see why they'd put Murley onto the rookie list and then upgrade a rookie who doesn't need upgrading - it'd be a strange pointless thing to do.

Correct, here is the current state of play:
