George has Jamie Elliot traits. They also talk of him similar like Petracca like, exposive mid forward

Kicked 17 goals in 5 games also before his injury
Petracca is the go-to comparison for potential draftees regardless of if they are anything like him at all.

He reads like a Dekka pick. He's often favoured guys who he thought would have been higher except for injury. That may have changed though with new oversight over his criteria and decisions.

Yeah probably could have been a top 10 pick if not for his injury
Dekka isn't feared for kids with injuries if you view them as long term options. Like Beggy who we selected in MSD who had a shoulder injury at the time.

George done an ACL, just don't want to go down that path again. Magor is just as good and will go later

yes we need a key position player, but we can get them in the early picks, Magor looks special, if we get him with 27 or later I will be rapt.

I’m officially on the Magor train

I agree and believe we will take a KPP or 2. I doubt we go after Magor but it would be nice, he can seriously play and also dominate in the midfield if he has to. PS: I am really liking Ed Allan, 194cm midfielder who can also play wing. Fastest in the combine and flying up the rankings

his highlights just screamed class, I know they are ‘highlights’ but you don’t rack up 40 touches in one game and then kick multiple goals in others if you aren’t highly talented. Injury interrupted year too, so could have been much better.
I like players who can play multiple positions, a mid that can go forward and kick multiple goals are gold.

With the recent reporting on Allen, I would be surprised if someone didn’t snaffle him up before our first pick, especially what he did at the combine.

I mentioned Allen about 4 weeks ago when he was starting to rip it up but no one was interested, he looks a beauty. Magor looks to have a huge upside, especially for teams who have 2 genuine big forwards, he would be hard to match up on, a bit like Henry unfortunately

He should have gotten someone else to post them. Advertising your own stuff on another site is crossing a line.
Nonsense. It’s an open forum, and it’s not like he was directing traffic away from BF permanently, to a competing site. People would read his articles and then immediately return to argue about his opinions ad nauseum. If anything he was likely responsible for increasing site traffic on BF.

I understand that, but it was a form of advertising, which I'd assume would be banned on here. If you're allowing one poster to advertise because you decide that advertising is beneficial, it's fraught.

The general consensus is that we'll take Hayes with our first pick. Makes sense. Best available, and a position of need.

Bit far away from the Draft to know anything for Sure and 19 Picks in as well

Lies. Phantom drafts are always spot on Dave.

heh

Whomever we do draft, as long as there is one tall, I'll be happy.

IDK I really doubt anyone is being drawn to BigFooty to read KM’s stuff. If I were running a business and someone was diverting traffic to a competitors site I wouldn’t cop it especially considering BF was the platform that built KM’s career…

ESPN is a competitor to an opinion forum, is it?
Unless I’m mistaken, links to articles from other sites tend to generate discussion on these forums. I don’t see that as competition, I see that as complimentary.
sr36 had a legitimate point about advertising, but as far as I can see, directing a BF poster away from the site for 5 minutes only to have them return and make comments or start arguing about the content of the link isn’t damaging to BigFooty in any way.

Yeah but you also go for best available in the first round, so plenty of others will go with mids/forwards
I’m not so sure. The thing about best available is that a guy like Hayes or Busslinger potentially only needs to be liked by one club ahead of us and that’s it. With the mid/ fwds having a bit more competition Phillipou for example might be on the board around 10 for every club ahead of us, but the way picks fall he gets through.

FWIW I’m not buying that clubs like WC, St Kilda and Carlton are going to draft by position. I’d be more concerned with Sydney or Melbourne who don’t “need” KPD’s, but with the way they play it’s odds on they value them highly.

Yeah on the basis of eyeballs which then leads to advertising and BF is a competitor of ESPN’s for advertising revenue…

I think it would be a different story if Jon Ralph came on here linking us to a Hun article of his.

yeah Swans would be the concern with having 14 and 17 Swans want Humphrey with one of their picks. But someone said Carlton are interested in Hayes with their first pick. Now that would be a concern given they have pick 10

Thanks partypie - looking at that list, can't help thinking that we need another tall forward in the 22 - 24 age bracket . Clear exposure in the ruck - still think there's improvement in Cox as a ruckman but if he goes down, I don't like the Cameron/Begg combination (I think the Cox/Begg combination could work). Mitchell fills a big hole and am looking forward to seeing how he influences the young in-side mids and our clearance work. For me, it's best available at 16, a KP at 25, if there's nothing we like at 27, look to trade 27 and 51 for a F2nd, promote JN and look to the Rookie/PSD for an emerging/mature ruck - keep a slot for the MSD as we've nailed that the past few years and hopefully we can jag another gem there. Target a key forward in the 22-24 age bracket next year.

Just to clarify none of the bolded bit above will work (unless the player we get is in the PSD which I'd say is fairly unlikely) - the 32 senior list player count already includes Noble's promotion.

We have to add another 4 senior listed players to reach the minimum of 36 - the only list spots you can "hold onto" after the ND/PSD are on the rookie list.

Thanks.

I thought if we only had a list size of 36 we could have 8 rookies (A and B)?

Therfore from your list we currently have:
32 main list (including Noble upgrade)
6 rookie A (including Murley downgrade)
1 rookie B

Outcome:
4 main list spots for National Draft and PSD
1 rookie spot. Does the rookie spot have to be a Cat B ot can it be a Cat A?

The remaining rookie spot for us has to be Cat B, as we're already going to be at the maximum of 6 Cat A rookies once Murley is delisted / redrafted as a rookie.

Was Wilson delisted or did we just get permission to move him?

We were given permission to delist and automatically re-add him as a Cat B rookie for one extra year, if nobody selects him in the ND. There was one other Cat B rookie at another club in the same boat.
