Max is a nice enough player, just feel we have other needs. I'd rather a project ruck than a project 3rd tall.

Seeds came off the best year of his career and then was hit with a shocking injury. Crouch was given 2 years when one would have been enough, found himself in the twos, despite wanting to leave had no takers and knows he’s now a sanfl player. Line up a fit Seeds v Crouch and you take Seeds hands down. So why the hell should he be demoted to a rookie status over Crouch?

I completely agree with you but maybe the club are thinking that there is zero chance of another club picking up Seedsman if he was delisted (so that we could rookie him)...even if another club were interested, would be a bit of a dog act knowing what Seeds has been through this year...
Don't get me wrong, the chance of Crouch being picked up by another club is probably low as well...but some club might take a punt...
I'm just speculating though...
I'd really rather TT isn't our first ruck. Should be our high CHF.

I think we would have expected **** all for Crouch and the value was clearing a list spot, so if someone took him, great.
Is there a chance we don’t use pick 46 and in-draft trade it out for a pick in the 2023 draft?

Depends if Carmichael wanted a 6 month or 18 month contract.
The only guess I can make is we ruled out any selection that had requested more than a half season deal.
The general view is that we'll be taking Michelanney as our 2nd pick, using 46 to match an expected 2nd round bid.
I’d rather get max , and ship doedee off for a high draft pick and get an elite mid.

rowe will flourish as he ages. Good skills and can adjust to the pace of the game. We will regret letting him go.

I found it easier to Head to Head Izak Rankine v Murphy, McHenry and Rowe. Totals not averages.

No, it was that they figured he gave us a better chance of winning or minimising the loss. That he had no future at the club makes no difference at selection, we don’t select for the future.

you would think having a "grown up" discussion with Seeds is all that is needed. As a rookie he stays on our list and still gets paid - any reasonable person would see this as a fair solution to a genuine problem

There may be other factors involved like mental health and maintaining goals that factor into the decision. It can’t just be about whether he can play footy again, it’ll be about his total wellbeing, physically and mentally. I’d much prefer we have the list spot available to us, it’s criminal that we’re so tight. But Seed isn’t the problem when we’ve got a player like Crouch that we could easily flick to the rookie list and if he was nabbed, nobody is harmed.

Why Seeds and not another player?
would make sense to move seeds to rookie and also delist and payout moose and murphy-neither are playing seniors again...surely

195cm Josh Worrell a tweener? Josh is the prototype 3rd key defender - agile, can compete with the bigger bodies and read the play. Will clearly move in front of Doedee next year as our 3rd tall. Love Doedee courage but he is completely out of depth when forced to compete against KPF

Doedee when fit is and always will be a better layer than Josh
Josh still struggles with upper body strength whereas Doedee can play taller better than Josh
Josh’s disposal and decision making with the ball also needs to improve greatly, he still bombs it up the line to much for my liking
Doedeewe courage is also being under valued on here IMO, Deidre makes others stand tall around him and his leadership if first class
I Josh should be best 22 next year but people need to stop over looking his flaws in his game and ignoring Doedee qualities

Unfortunately for Rowe, he has poor genetics for modern AFL. He’s too heavy for his height. Not fat, he’s just too slow because he has short legs and a rotund body shape. It makes him too easily shut down.
It’s a shame because he has more natural talent than any of our other smaller players.
Can’t see anyone giving him a lifeline because it’s obvious and you can’t fix it.
