Watching the Bushies vs the Pioneers right now and I can tell you Ollie Hollands is an absolute gun runner with an inside/outside game...but his kicking is average at best. I'll also tell you now if Harley Reid doesn't go top 3 or 4 next year I'll eat my hat.

Nope, it's the view of the majority of neutral avid footy watchers on the boards

You criticise our players, like Keays for his disposal .....yet you're keen to bring another in, with poor disposal

We need a classy finisher, not another grunge player .....we don't have to chase a player, simply because he's available

Dunkleys ten times the player Keay’s is..

Keays wouldnt even get close to getting a game in the Bulldogs midfield.

The overrating of Keays by some around here is just bewildering.

He’s hot garbage.

His game last night was on par with, or even worse than, Curtly Hampton’s last game for the club.

His last 12 games this season, barr the one against Carlton, have been terrible…

You watch Dunkley end up at port for a cheap second round pick.. then he’ll tear us a new one in the first showdown in 2023.. and once again.. we’ll get crickets chirping from all the Keays apologists in here..

Depends on the team's midfield mix ......teams I think could use Dunkley: WCE, RICH, ESS & PORT

ESS have the class in Zerrett and Shiel, but lack that inside grunt .....BTW Parish gets lambasted by fans for his "shotgun" kicking

Brodie going to FREO was perfect (in hindsight) .....Brayshaw, and Serong providing the outside class

Another that's weakness is his disposal by foot.

Of course you'd take Dunkley if he was available at his true value both draft collateral and salary wise but he's not the messiah.....and he's certainly not worth a top 10 pick. If it was a choice between Dunkley and Phillipou I'm running the gauntlet and passing on Dunkley.

It's why GWS have played him predominantly FWD ....Taranto wants to play midfield, RICH / COLL provide that opportunity

Put Dunkley into Ports midfield & surround him with Butters & Rozee ....it's a perfect mix of grunt and class

When they play him forward like WB did with Dunkley is because they have few goal scoring options and both of them have a forward craft unlike most of there other mids.
It's like saying Toby Greene is a poor mid so GWS play him forward.

If you're going to have midfielder with average to poor disposal by foot in the side I'd want high accumulation, clearances and defensive work which Laird provides much more of than someone like Dunkley.

I wouldn't go out of my way to add Dunkley to a team with Laird already

The Dawson trade has given me confidence we can get Rankine and keep our first.

We might have A first, but I don't think we'll have OUR first.

Dawson was very likely to be there in the PSD for us, so Sydney had to compromise. Rankine won't be, which will force us and GCS to get closer to middle ground.

Maybe GCS will want a '23 first for Academy selections, but I still think our first for Rankine and a 2nd is most likely.

Imagine Laird as your third midfielder like Viney, Edwards or even Dunkley and you got Martin and Cotchin or Oliver and Petracca or Bont and Macrae along side him.

No one has suggested he is the messiah. He’s a decent mid that would make our midfield better because it’s one of the worst in the comp. I’m also not suggesting using our first pick on him and I don’t think Port will be either

No your not, you and Hamish are going for the gut running 180cm battler whose not overly quick and going to struggle to hit a barn door from 20m as long as hes from a good family with leadership skills. .

Hamish had to select him, that’s on him.

I’m not convinced he’d have much say when we’re talking about a fully developed SANFL player. If Nix reckoned Turner would be close to getting a game with us and List Management prioritised protecting our 14th place finish ahead of sliding to 15th, I don’t see any need to get a view from Talent ID. That said, he sits on LM committee, so has a hand in it to some extent.

Beveridge has handled Dunkley poorly.
He is very different to Schoenberg in many ways.
Go look at his 2019 year at 22 y.o.
He was on track to being a gun.
191cm 90kg mid averaging almost 30 possessions a game.

IMO ....Disposal, and Marking .....for a junior he also exhibits good composure, in that he weighs up his options, rather than throwing the ball on his boot
