If we want a guy that racks up touches and clearances at reserves level but has never shown to be AFL quality, look no further than re-listing Riley KnightDow has done this B4 .....I've seen him rip up an AFL game and dominate a half of footy .....and then disappear
Much easier to run out a VFL game, which is below SANFL standard ...than it is an AFL game, with associated pressure
He's certainly got some talent, and another AFL club would pick him up ....the CROWS though, already have enough of his player type
So why aren't more current draftee's playing SANFL Reserves ? ......I don't know how many are BTWYou only need to look at the SANFL reserves these days full of kids that have been passed over in the last couple of drafts and apart from a few SANFL journeymen that are break glass in emergency League players it's pretty bereft of talent. Almost all the good mature age players not getting regular League games prefer to play in the Country or Ammos with mates. One only needs to look at some of our top ups this year, most are clearly right up to SANFL League standard at least, players like Boyle, McKenzie etc would walk into most Snaffle League teams if they were still that way inclined.
You tell me, I do watch U18's and any U18 lads eligible for that year's draft so perhaps you can explain why whem lads like Kobe Ryan, Nick Saddler, Harry Barnett, Brodie Tuck etc invariably dominate at Reserves level as much as they do in the U18's, even the U18 lads that play League invariably show they are well up to the standard like Kobe Ryan and Nick Sadler for instance this year. The SANFL is no longer the level of past years. So why aren't more current draftee's playing SANFL Reserves ? ......I don't know how many are BTW
Hately has rarely played in his correct position at AFL level. He's not awful, he's actually played well this season.Dow is a dud. We already have our very own Paddy Dow in Hately. Performs in the sanfl and is awful at AFL level. The only players we need to be bringing in from our list or via a trade is replacements for players such as Rowe, McHenry, Murphy, ROB, Jones, Keays, Smith plus a big bodied explosive mid, another KPD and a better ruck.

Dow has acceleration from the contest that Hately definitely doesn't possess.Hately has rarely played in his correct position at AFL level. He's not awful, he's actually played well this season.
No one has said anything remotely close to the contrary. What's your point?Dow has acceleration from the contest that Hately definitely doesn't possess.
Just what I posted, Hately lacks acceleration and speed. No one has said anything remotely close to the contrary. What's your point?
Davis for his limited opportunities has not performed that badly. Not our worst player. Saying that why should he remain on the list if he plays only random games.Would keep Ben Davis on the list in case Hamill cannot keep going.
Clearly Santa is coming early for Adelaide. It can happen. I think we could get Rankine, Hopper, Cox. Trade out pick 5 for pick 10 and 16. 10 goes to GC for Rankine. Pick 16 goes to Freo for Cox. Use our 2023 1st (probably pick 8-10) on Hopper. Either use pick 23 in the 2022 draft or trade it out for a similar pick in the 2023 draft. This would allow us to use the two 2nds to trade back into the 2023 first round.
Thanks Country Lad for telling us what the afl clubs will doClearly Santa is coming early for Adelaide.
Rankine will be minimum pick 5 and future 3rd. Or Future 1st and a second rounder this year. Reference the Cerra trade from last year if you like.
You wont get Cox full stop he’s an important piece for Freo and to suggest pick 16 lol. If Freo were to trade a Key Back it will be Logue and or Hambling.
Would keep Ben Davis on the list in case Hamill cannot keep going.
Is what you were thinkingThanks Country Lad for putting the count in country
That's five years runningHello no, Davis is 100% in the delist category.
hately kicking is not up to scratch and thats got nothing to do with position you playHately has rarely played in his correct position at AFL level. He's not awful, he's actually played well this season.
Doesn't time his kicks at all. Hence lack accuracy and penetration. It's a technique issue.hately kicking is not up to scratch and thats got nothing to do with position you play
I’m certainly not cutting Nank but I think there is a footballer in Paddy Dow somewhere for a club to unlock, happy with rumour that we are into Poulter, plenty on the list we can cut to have a look at him.IMO ....Nankervis is a better option than Poulter .....Nank just has something about the way he moves & his decision making that oozes potential
I dont see a role for poulter or dowI’m certainly not cutting Nank but I think there is a footballer in Paddy Dow somewhere for a club to unlock, happy with rumour that we are into Poulter, plenty on the list we can cut to have a look at him.
Why would the Crows give up 5?Clearly Santa is coming early for Adelaide.

You do not just delist contracted players. Clubs never do it.I’m certainly not cutting Nank but I think there is a footballer in Paddy Dow somewhere for a club to unlock, happy with rumour that we are into Poulter, plenty on the list we can cut to have a look at him.
His kicking has improved noticeably since his rookie year, and this year his kicking was far from the worst on our list. Not our best kick but to say his kicking is not up to scratch is a lazy and misguided argument.hately kicking is not up to scratch and thats got nothing to do with position you play
54.4% KE in his 11 AFL games is hardly anything to write home about. His kicking has improved noticeably since his rookie year, and this year his kicking was far from the worst on our list. Not our best kick but to say his kicking is not up to scratch is a lazy and misguided argument.
I reckon that Davis will stay on at the Crows - but not as a player. I get the impression he is good guy and a great team mate, despite not being that close to an AFL player. I reckon they might find him a development job - perhaps with the first nation's players.
