Alternatively the Crows could delist or transfer Borlase and Newchurch to Category A Rookie List and this would open up 2 more senior list spots if the Crows are unable to facilitate trades or retirements to open up list spots for Rankine, Pick 5 and Pick 23.
The Crows have an option of either having 36 Senior List spots, 6 Category A rookies and 2 Category B rookies or 38 Senior List spots and 6 Category A rookies. If the the Crows remove the 2 Cat B rookies this opens up 2 more Senior List spots.Explain this section to me?
Rowe, Frampton, Davis plus one of Crouch/McAsey out
Rankine, pick 5, Michalanney in
Perhaps another out and Turner to the Rookie List
Pick 23 will be traded out, perhaps for 2023 picks. We will need to replace 5-6 players at the end of next season.

Average person, not liked by the Carlton team mates. Kicked his first goal, almost no one went to him. That would be a no from me….average pace, average disposal.
I don't think this is accurate. The Crows have an option of either having 36 Senior List spots, 6 Category A rookies and 2 Category B rookies or 38 Senior List spots and 6 Category A rookies. If the the Crows remove the 2 Cat B rookies this opens up 2 more Senior List spots.
Highly likely.I really need to get my head around our numbers…..
Perhaps Seedsman moves to the Rookie List for admin purposes?
Delisting Davis, and upgrading Strachan/Butts, only leaves us with 2 rookie list vacancies. Turner is an extra, over and above the maximum. Our current rookies are Davis, Strachan, Butts, Parnell, Murray and Turner with Borlase and Newchurch listed as Category B rookies.. Crows can delist Davis and upgrade Strachan and Butts to the Senior List which gives the Crows 3 rookie spots for 2023.
Borlase & Newchurch are Cat B rookies. Delisting them doesn't create any vacancies that we can actually use this year - they can only be replaced by other Cat B rookies, and we don't have any incoming this year. Moving them to the Cat A rookie list does not "open up 2 more senior list spots".Players out of contract on the Senior List in 2022 are Frampton and Rowe which would cover Strachan and Butts being upgraded to the Senior List. To make room for Rankine, Pick 5 and Pick 23 the Crows would need to trade on, delist or retire 3 other players. If the Crows want more picks at the National Draft of Pre-Season Draft then they would have to trade out more players. Potential players to trade out or retire (From 2023 contracted players) would be McAsey, Crouch, McPherson, Jones and Murphy with the potential for Seedsman and/or Brown to retire. Sholl is contracted to 2024 but has also generated some trade interest. Alternatively the Crows could delist or transfer Borlase and Newchurch to Category A Rookie List and this would open up 2 more senior list spots if the Crows are unable to facilitate trades or retirements to open up list spots for Rankine, Pick 5 and Pick 23.
There's no doubt that a lot of picks will be involved when we trade our contracted (and uncontracted) players. I suspect that some of them may be to clubs looking for points, while others may be used to improve our 2023 draft hand - noting that we have a lot of players coming out of contract in 2023 who are likely to be exiting the club.If I was the Crows, I would be looking to package together picks received for McAsey, Crouch, Sholl, Rowe and Frampton for Brisbane's 1st rounder as they will need points for Ashcroft and Fletcher. I would also be speaking with the management of both Seedsman and Brown to respectfully orchestrate their retirement and clear list positions moving forward.
At this stage it's looking unlikely that we will have enough senior list vacancies to make 3 selections in the ND. It's looking likely to be pick #5, and one more pick after that - most likely Keeler or Michelanney (but not both). Rankine, pick #5, and Michelanney or Keeler.I think we'll go into the draft with two picks before 25, and some points to grab Michalanney after that.
I'm only imagining four players joining the list this year - Rankine, Michalanney, and two early-ish draft picks.
No... it doesn't. Cat B rookies make no difference to the senior & Cat A rookie list numbers. The Crows have an option of either having 36 Senior List spots, 6 Category A rookies and 2 Category B rookies or 38 Senior List spots and 6 Category A rookies. If the the Crows remove the 2 Cat B rookies this opens up 2 more Senior List spots.

Have you told the club?We currently are 37/6 (2) as our list.
We ultimately can be any combination of 38/4 to 36/6, as long as we don't go over 42 (your CAT Bs don't count against this number).

Would be looking to keepLooking ahead to 2023 it looks like we will have a fair few potential list spots to fill? Obviously if we can move some of the guys like Brown, McAsey and Crouch now then that makes things a bit easier.
Even so I would of thought we should be trying to get an extra second round pick next year somewhere in the trade period? We can bring in some mature age players but we don't want to be left filling list spots with 4th and 5th round picks.
These are the players out of contract at the end of 2023

Chayce Jones
Harry Schoenberg

how is turner above the maximum. Are you talking about this years numbers?Delisting Davis, and upgrading Strachan/Butts, only leaves us with 2 rookie list vacancies. Turner is an extra, over and above the maximum.

When does Max M/club have to nominate that they are going father/son or has this already occurred. It's almost an agreement with the player and the club isn't it -my memory is vague with the Jarman and Edwards lads?
as an aside;
Is Ben Jarman still playing?
Did Edwards the other brother get injured at WC he started quite well?
What I see is 5 players being added to the senior list - Butts, Strachan, Rankine, 2x ND selections.I don't think that is any more likely than us taking two picks before Michalanney.
If anything, I think an offseason that only has three changes to our list seems very unlikely.
