Do people think West coast will bounce back up the ladder and just thought this season was a one off with all their injuries? Finish above or below us?

Okay, which pick can we get up to by trading 23 and our future 2nd? Mid teens?

Which clubs would want to trade down? I can't see Bris wanting to unless they get another pick this year back, for Ashcroft and Fletcher. Maybe Sydney trades down one of their firsts? Though the Dawson wounds might sting a little bit for them, still. Possibly the Pies too, if they're low on picks after looking to trade in so many players

As for who we'd actually take, there might be a slight chance Phillipou slides, but other than that, you'd be looking at Hewett, Hollands, Keeler (if you want to go the KPF route), Hotton etc.

I don't mind the idea of Hotton simply because we'll still be lacking pace, and the wingmen we currently have aren't exactly the fastest players

It doesn't have to be, they have 3 academy players next year they need points for. Why not use 5 to get more draft collateral to shake things up?

Just because our list manager is dud and can't think outside the box doesn't mean we can't have some fun before we obviously get bent over at the trade table

And that is fine but we need to engineer a way to get another couple of mids and free up capital to make it happen. If that means we pay out a couple of contracts of players we aren't going to play, so be it.

For me Rowe and McPherson are delists

Sholl maybe could land a Dow level mid in trade from another club , worth entertaining if we aren’t going to play Sholl

Who else ? I’d be open to McAdam / Doedee if someone offered us overs but feel like we’d be trading Doedee at his bottom value given he played with inj all year and struggled .

McAdam went really well this year ,very happy to keep but would think about it if it helped net Phillipou with a combo of a draft pick

Unlike rankine and horne who were playing sanfl as 16yos, Phillipou didnt get a crack at sanfl even as a 17yo. apologies if Im wrong. My suspicion is they dont rate him as highly as we do in our fantasy

Probably looking at this and next year when I say that. If we are in a position where we are able to move someone on this year, so be it. What I don't want us to be is heading into the next draft with no flexibility to trade or bring in some new players like this year. It is a disaster in a rebuilding stage that we have our hands tied like we do.

We should, at every step try to make the side better, if we are only going to pay Crouch to play in the SANFL, then move him on and take a chance with a rookie to see what they can do...if we are only going to delist at years end

crouch is not leaving adelaide because his partner is from adelaide-only hope was port now thats off the table

he will play sanfl this year on the books and then probably the sanfl captain from 2024 on - clearly nobody wants him

Few reasons for that re seniors footy - one being he’s young and almost qualifies for next years draft , another is the eagles don’t seem to promote to seniors readily eg D’aloia

But yes we might overrate him more on here than the club does but that 11 possessions playing mid in first 15 mins vs metro before injury stands out as what he might end up being capable of

Can’t think outside the box? No one tipped the 4 club trade that got us Melbournes pick for Dawson. No one expected us to then make a big play for JHF

If you look at bottom teams recent times - both GC and North were given extra list spots as part of their assistance packages because having 25 kids on your list makes it hard to rotate through and still give them a chance to establish themselves. In reality for us Gollant and Nankervis are the two that would go. We need some experience back ups so you would get rid of the two that are still some way off development wise from impacting - and no one wants to do that yet.

Then we have fantasy land getting rid of McHenry or Murphy or Jones.

It is a tough year this year. Next year we should be able to start drawing a line through some of these draftees - and ideally get a free hit free agent as well

From what Reid said today, I don't hold much hope of us doing much past giving the Suns way too much for Rankine and continuing to ignore our inept one-pace midfield. Another year of our forwards getting the ball bombed on their heads.

Wrong, only Rankine played League as a 16year old and with an April Birthday..

And they were April and June birthday's not 27th of December..
