What a tool. I'd rather be boring than having scandals and negative stories coming out like we have in the past!

And how is trading our first round pick for 1 of the most exciting your prospects in the league boring? Boring would be doing nothing and sitting on our hands.
Not surprised seeing previous inserts he labels us as “that club”.

Ok so an idea - and no doubt I will be shouted down, but thought I would see what people think because it is Friday and I am bored...but would there be any point in doing the following:

Trade to GWS our First Round Pick next year (likely to be no lower than say pick 5) for their newly acquired picks 15 and 18
Trade picks 15 and 18 to the Suns for Rankine, so equivalent to like pick 4-5 right (which is what we are giving up anyway)?
Rankine traded to us
We keep pick 5 this year and can get Phillipou.

Guess it all just depends on whether there are better prospects in next years draft right? Phillipou to me looks like exactly the type of player we need (big bodied mid), but without the go-home factor...

Please proceed to tear apart...

Sliding doors has become such a nothing column.

As you said, we’ve had two of the biggest recruits of the past two off seasons, if by boring he actually means somewhat competent compared to the years prior then I’ll take it.

Who are the "bodies powerful mids" we haven't gone after since 2015?

We had a huge crack at Dustin Martin in '16 (5yrs, $6m), Richmond just went with a longer deal (7 years).

We also went after Petracca in the Lever deal. That was our original proposal but obviously Melbourne wouldn’t budge

Why involve GWS? Just trade 23/1 for Rankine

Every club has a shop window during trading week that prospective buyers browse past.
In our position we can’t get any to double take or stop for that matter because the ones we want to sell
have been put up front and inflated initially from the bargain bin.

Its lookong like theres going to be a few going to the psd

that pick will be handy with only four taken before us must be tempting reid no end to walk him

How many days to go? It’s all flexing and positioning. You’d probably be able to get it all done in a couple of days.

I thought they needed extra picks for academy players?

Reid said on Trade Radio something to the effect of, 'Pick 5 is on the table'.

Silvers in his 'CEO update' email stated that the Crows met with JHF and he told them he wants to go to Port.

It’s funny hey, all the cooked and frazzled ones in the media that were in the coal face.
Ross the boss, Bucks, King, Lyon. Absolute casseroles.

Only an option imo if we trade out Crouch.

Which is potentially why an otherwise straightforward late/future late pick deal hasn't gone through yet.

The severe lack of interest in our fringe players and cast offs should be lighting the proverbial beacons of Gondor for our management.

What are you going to do if we are Crouchless lol?

Good question to ask you Cos I like your clinical opinion. As trade week is a shopfront. Who should be on our shopfront?

Tom Doedee is the obvious one. Right age bracket for a lot of teams, a pretty good player when in form, but playing in a niche role that isn't really important to us now, rather is only important to a team who finished top 4 this year and feels an experiened intercept defender was one of the reasons they didn't win it this year, much like topping up with a small forward or a ruckman. Only player on our list in the right spot on the market value vs team importance graph. He certainly looks less and less like the future captain, which was the main reason to retain him.

The other is Shane McAdam. Realistically he's too old to still be an important contributor to our next premiership push, while at the same time his most recent season, his forward x factor, and Fremantle's current list position mean he's never going to be more valuable in trade than he is right now.

Some might say Smith, but I think that ship sailed 2 years ago, other clubs will want him but won't be willing to pay anything for him anymore given the age.

I can't really think of anyone else worth putting in that glass window. The rest have not enough value, or are players we want and should want to retain.

Look ffs people. This is a very well rounded and knowledgeable think on who we can sell. And I agree.
If clubs come knocking for Doedee or McAdam then that is the only way we are going to get draft collateral.
Apart from farting around with late picks. Lol
