I know this is your hobby horse and you are always popping up with this s**t, but it is absolutely ridiculous to call Keays a 'terrible' player. He got Brownlow votes in 6 games last year in a bottom 4 side and came second in our B&F. He's miles above average, a good footballer with some real strengths who also has some weaknesses. Massively exaggerating those weaknesses and their importance doesn't make you an astute judge of the game.

Best to ignore Clam when he goes on his angry Keays rants, I’ve found. Not a perfect player by any means, but he belongs at the level

both terrible players that give their all and every now and then have a bit of a day out which remarkably results in them getting another long stretch of games in which to be s**t in!..

Keays was brilliant against Carlton.. then straight back to his below average self for the next two weeks.

and why the * did they throw him back in the middle again?..

Keays first third of the year was excellent. Potential Brownlow leading good according to afl.com.au analysis at the time. Overall he has been quieter since but he isn’t a fringe type player - like Murphy who can’t take set shots to save himself which is unfortunate as it’s a priority for his role.

That's one of the scenarios I'd consider a trade involving him but I doubt he wants to go there so would be hard to make it happen anyway.

You can ignore what I’m saying all you like..

But deep down you know Keays is a very limited footballer.. and if you dont know that then i’m not sure you are watching him close enough..

He’s a shit midfielder. He looks alright as a HF.. but the club refuses to put him there and leave him there full time.

Eventually with guys like soligo, berry, shoey, taylor, rachele (lads with actual football ability) and other new draftee mids we get into the side pushing their way into the midfield Keays will be forced out.. and even quicker if we land JHF or similar in a trade.

So it will be HF or SANFL for Ben.

Already enough experience in the midfield and forward line of the tigers..

So you’d chuck your new draftee young gun mid in there to develop alongside martin, cotchin, prestia, short, castagna, graham, pickett, bolton, Rioli etc etc.. all of which are fukn gun/premiership mid/forward players who can guide, mentor and carry a young player.. instead of chucking a poorly skilled 26 year old keays type in.

Keays wouldnt make the tigers 22. Thats just a basic fact. Hopefully soon he wont be able to make the crows best 22 because if he still can in a year or two from now it will be a sure sign the rebuild has failed.

Nope, dont hate keays at all..

Fully praised his game against Carlton the other week. Would love them to camp him at HF all the time.

Because he’s a terrible midfielder with shit skills that tries his heart out and unfortunately those types of players might have you appreciating their effort.. but they dont win you the big games.

No one thinks he's elite. Most people (who are sensible) think he's a good footballer with limitations. Has he at times been or best mid? Yes. Should he be our best mid? No.

I love how people fall back on this “sure, he’s not an elite kick but nor is Cripps or dangerfield” Bullshit line to defend keays.

Cripps and Danger might not be elite kicks but they are still better kicks than Ben is and on top of that they are elite at just about every other facit of the game!..

Ben isnt just a shit kick.. he a shit handballer, how many times does the lad fire off wild handballs to the disadvantage of his team mates.. he’s a shit decision maker, how often does he pick the wrong option..

And he’s unpredictable and erratic.. he runs around like an energiser bunny which is got some loose wiring and has been snorting copius amounts of cocaine..

And his timing is poor. That missed attempt at goal that had to be reviewed on the weekend was a perfect example of peak Keays..

No, I don't agree with that either. Lets say a team with a strong midfield, they aren't going to take on another mid if theirs a better. Same as any position really.
