So? He was a father son?
There were plenty of spuds who were happy to play for us aswell. If someone offered a top 5 pick for Viney in a hypothetical world we would be dumb not to take it
I’d rather keep a key leader that finished top 5 in the BnF while we are in the flag window.

I'd rather a balanced midfield that gets us closer to multiple premierships than having 4 of the exact same player.

quoting BnF results. lol.

James Jordon > Harrison Petty in that case

Sometimes its worth taking a chance on a player who may have had some off field issues and hope you can turn it around, blokes like Stengle and Pickett most recently cost their clubs very little and have become important players for them.

If he cost us nothing and he can get back to playing good footy then I don’t see the issue.

And if it doesn't work out on the field then Goody has a new mate to go on a bender with!

Petty missed 4 games, he averaged more votes per game than Jordon lol

So what? Are bnf results based on average? You quoted it like it meant something, it means nothing. Jordon shouldn't be anywhere near our top 10 players

Not too much new.

  • Disappointed about Bedford, but haven't spoken to GWS yet
  • Grundy's coming
  • Hunt to West Coast
  • Sounds like we'll really be playing hardball with Jackson
  • Ruled out trading Weideman :(
  • Tomlinson encouraged to look elsewhere
  • Corbett a no

Mentioned 'options elsewhere on the list with players we already have' regading forward line. Imagine that may have been a hint at Petty swinging forward

Goodbye 2023. I get major Ned Guy vibes when he mentions Tom Mcdonald as a possible inclusion into our next years team as being a difference maker. Are we supposed to buy that? So we're going to have Ben Brown and Tom Mcdonald and one of Grundy/Gawn applying forward pressure. Good God.

It's also stupid how these discussions go

"If we could I'd rather get rid of Viney than Harmes but it wouldn't happen"

Some nuffy
"Omg we can't force out Viney the culture!"
I agree 100%

I’ve always said imaginary conversations with some nuffies are really ****ing stupid.

Some of us get by at times with these.

Weren't you saying we should draft KPF's coz there is nothing in FA only last week mate? Good God. Its hard to keep up with your opinions changing so rapidly.

I'm disappointed we didn't give away our whole trade strategy and weaken our position. Weak as piss

I vote that every post ITT contains these two words. Good God.

As I mentioned earlier, it sounded very much like Petty would be playing KPF the way Lamb spoke about us using different talls in creative ways. Danny didnt pick up on that. Im shocked, hes generally ahead of the curve with these things.

yeah, there's nothing because we're not going after anyone. Did we go for Gunston? Nup. Did we go for Georgiadis? Nup. There were several others which we clearly didn't go for. We're overpaying Grundy by 500k so we could've overpaid someone who actually makes us better i.e. a forward.

Of course I picked up on it. I fact I picked up this 12 months ago. maybe even 18 months ago. petty played 5 minutes as a forward in a game against the bulldogs from memory. He looked great there. It took Goodwin 6 months and for our season to be on the line for him to even try Petty there. If Petty works out, its not good coaching. I hope it works out but it was amusing that Lamb said 'we can get creative'. Yeah, because Goodwin was so creative this year?

You have no idea who we did and didn't go for you bloody crayfish

Id love to get Cadman but id be very happy with JVR and Petty also, massive upgrade on the s**t we trotted out there this year.

Also, fire in the disco to the backline, exciting times. Very keen to see if Turner can take his opportunity.
Petty surpassed Lever last year. Petty to Turner is a massive downgrade. But if Petty forward spells the end of Ben Brown then I'm all for it.

So if we're looking at Hunter, and something in the 30's would satisfy the Dogs, could go to Brisbane and trade out 51, 52 and 65 for 34 and 71. They get a few more points for Ashcroft and we could then use 34 for Hunter?
