It’s time to get serious this off season or our shot at another flag will be lost. We simply must sign up Jordan DeGoey and Lance Franklin as free agents. With Richmond getting Taranto and Hopper, they must be willing to take salary dumps on Liam Baker and Dustin Martin. I’d send Ben Brown to Hawthorn for Jack Gunston. Brodie Grundy as a straight swap for Weid. Hunt, Hibberd and Tomlinson can go to the Pies for Maynard. Jackson can go to Freo for their first rounder, Lloyd Meek and Fyfe. Harmes, ANB, Spargo, Sparrow and Petty can be distributed equally among the Crows and Power for first round picks, Izak Rankine (on-traded) and Mitch Georgiades. Steven May and Max Gawn are now over 30 so Geelong should be willing to swap them for Sam DeKoning and Jack Henry. With these simple and achievable tweaks our team looks to have more depth and is set to contend again.
B: Maynard - SDK - Lever
HB: Bowey - Henry - L Baker
C: Fyfe - Oliver - JDG
HF: Rankine - Georgiades - Pickett
F: Fritsch - Franklin - Gunston
R: Grundy - JVR - Meek
I: Martin - Langdon - Viney - Laurie
Sub: Petracca
E: Brayshaw - Spencer (redraft as rookie) - T McDonald

Weideman has played his last game at MFCDo not trade Grundy in. If we want to play a second ruck then just play Weid in the role

With respect, you can’t fault Trac last night. Played with a broken leg and looked like the only guy ahead of the ball that cared. Played with serious intensity for a guy who couldn’t runOne hundred percent him and Trac went home played some PS5 and forgot about it. Mays atleast gonna be out on the piss belting mates who didnt help him
Love the new avatar.Weideman has played his last game at MFC
I'm not faulting him, I thought he was crap but he was way more Involved and way tougher than I thought he would be. He was bad though, but I don't hold it against him because he was moving horribly. All things considered he can sleep with his head held high for toughing it out which I definitely didn't expectWith respect, you can’t fault Trac last night. She's probably already taken credit for the coaching as it is so why would she need to actually coach?Thoughts on moving Kate Roffey to head coach and Goody to president?

We failed to knife her in a bloodless coup to really get the season rolling.Thoughts on moving Kate Roffey to head coach and Goody to president?

OOC
Jackson will be traded
Laurie, D Smith and Rosman may get another 1-2 year contract but wouldn’t be shocked to see any delisted or traded for a packet of chips.
Melksham will hopefully retire
Hibberd could be 50/50 to retire or saddle up for one more year
Hunt might stay, might go for sweet fa, don’t really care
M Brown should be delisted
Baker should be delisted
Bedford see Hunt
The contracted players wouldn’t yield much imo
Weideman and Chandler are probably worth pick 120.
Tomlinson maybe a pick between 60-100.
Jordon, Rivers and Sparrow are probably worth more to us than anything we’d get back in a trade but I’m certainly not against shipping 1 or 2 of them off if the right deal came along. Ditto Harmes.
As much as Salem sounds like a good idea to trade in theory, his value is low and his contract is long so I don’t see it happening unless we did it as a salary dump.
So basically any moves we make this off-season will be based around Luke Jackson.

I think he's had an up and down season. Patchy, and within games.Lever was a **** in the final 2 minutes but ill give him a pass on the season given how many injuries he had this year, was always something, wouldnt be surprised if he had numerous surgeries over the offseason.
Salem has never been anything special, he just does enough to get by, players like that s**t me to tears.
Look again DP, at the replay. And not when he is miles in open space. Check what he does when hes tackled with the ball.Lever actually had a fantastic game until the absolute brain fade in the last 2 mins. One of the few players who put in a consistent effort all game.
I think he's had an up and down season. Patchy, and within games.
Under direct pressure, he's been bog ordinary, with his feet on the ground. Just keeps on making stupid decisions, and putting teammates directly under the pump.
Absolutely, spot on 00stinger.Yeah Lever is good when he runs around playing loose and unaccountable football and has May and Petty covering his ass. Put him on a man and he shits the bed time and time again.
I think Salem plays injured. Tight groins,? runs like it anyway.Hibbo came back from similar time off wth injury to Salem and put him to shame.
I think Grundy will hamstring our club. Both in salary-cap, and with having to choose between him and Maxy, as both are No1 rucks.Retire: Brown, TMac, Melk.
Trade: Salem, Rivers, Jacko, Sparrow.
Do not trade Grundy in. If we want to play a second ruck then just play Weid in the role Pedo used to play until we develop a young ruck. He is serviceable in that role and it might give him some confidence up forward. If nothing else when he rests forward he takes away a defender.
PS I think Weid sucks, but the idea of Grundy and his paycheck sucks more to me.
