I think Salem plays injureed. Tight groins,? run like it anyway.

Must have had tight groins his whole career then coz hes run like that from the start of it. Always been twinkle toes.

So who are we actually rumoured to be trading in besides Grundy?
We should leave Grundy on the Pies books, and go after McStay.. as a direct replacement for TMc. I reckon TMc will finish this time in 2023.

McStay can be a swing-man, as can Petty. McStay can chop out in the ruck as well.

With respect, you can’t fault Trac last night. Played with a broken leg and looked like the only guy ahead of the ball that cared. Played with serious intensity for a guy who couldn’t run
That’s a great avatar Tulip

Hunter Clark interests me, if the price is right. Considered available. Duursma, De Goey too.

Wasn't there chat about a KPF in SA from an ITK? Perhaps as part of the Jackson deal? If it was Goergiades... oh boy. I'd be into that.

Doubt we'd get Georgiadis from Port. Fogarty from Adelaide I think was talked about? He had a decent run to end the year but they've got a few other talls floating around so we might be able to offer more games/coin?

Nah he had an amazing g finish to the season. Something like statsicially the best forward in the league after the bye. No chance sadly.

Rumours of Liam Henry wanting out of dockers. Would take in a heart beat to pair with Kozzie up forward.

Hopefully gets discussed as part of Jackson trade

Yep, and as much as Willie Rioli has ****ed West coast id look at him also since he wants out.

The more times you rack your brains for potential key forward trade targets and come up blank, the more I think we’ll try and trade up to get one of the highly ranked forwards in the draft.

Unless there’s some kind of shock development and we trade in a tall forward who is actually good, I wouldn’t want to waste Jacko trade by getting in a bunch of steak knives or some joker like McStay who is barely better than Weid or Brown.

It all depends on Jackson. Not sure what we get for him. Maybe 2 mid/late firsts.

Could potentially try and use that to get Georgiadis from Port, Mac Andrew from GC or Nick Larkey from North. But I'm not sure how getable any of them actually are
Otherwise I guess try and trade up in the draft

i'd be interested in Rioli if he was cheap enough to gamble on, but not so much Henry, i reckon he's too soft.
A few Gatorades and a bag of weed should be enough for him

Mac Andrew is not going to be the answer to our problems, larkey on the other hand I would love

Would love to find the next Mabior Chol at the trade table. Athletic enough to get separation from a defender and get out the back, as well as a decent mark in a pack and finisher. What a steal he was for GC

Probably ratugolea or Amartey. Formers more gettable than the latter.

Would prefer the latter. Both would be good options.

That's if we even have any money to get them. For all we know the reason Brayshaw was unsigned was we needed to flick him to keep Jackson and now that Jackos gone that's why we could keep him. I have a bad feeling we've tied up all our money into Trac, Oliver, Gawn and Gus.

We must have some sort of decent coin if we're still hoping Jackson stays. Once he leaves, it frees up cash. Plus Melk will likely go, and who knows who we trade out/delist.

Plus, Armartey or Rat wouldn't cost the earth. I would so much prefer one of them on ~$350,000 than Grundy on ~$650,000.

I would take McLean happily too

Are we hoping Jackson stays? I guess if we've talked to Grundy we have someeee money somewhere

I don't think we're acting like a club with a salary cap squeeze, you couldn't be chasing Grundy if money was that tight.

You would think we have to be a little bit ruthless about trading though, it can't just be a matter of letting go all our players on minimum wage and then expecting to get good established players in.

The long term deals to all our best players would indicate that their salaries are smoothed out over a longer period, you'd expect that indicates that we'll have a little cash to spend on 2/3 year deals but surely not on any big names looking for 5-7 year contracts. Potentially the interest in Grundy is more because he fits that profile than because he fits in with our needs and team structure. Which is the wrong way to go about things IMO.

Jackson has more long term upside than Grundy, but he's absolutely gone. He was nowhere near it in the second half of the season, a lot of players have their form drop right before they move clubs.
