I'm far from a J Smith fan, but as cheap, versatile depth he's handy enough. If he ever gets through a season unscathed he could single handedly win us a flag (or a spoon, but it'd be fun to find out!).

Must be torture having this happen over and over for the past several years.

If he can actually get a full pre-season and then play the majority of next years season I think that would be a boost to his mental health. At worst he has had a proper shot at the big time then.

I think someone mentioned he is being played as a forward in the VFL now, that could be ok considering his pace.

The game is getting quicker and quicker each year. It's good to have a guy like J.Smith who is one of the most athletically gifted athletes in the afl. I like that they're trialling him up forward.

Joel is a injury junkie, if he doesn't injure someone else, he will himself. It seems, almost a must.

Spells out the end for mBrown.

And maybe Tomlinson.? Whats his contract status.? 2024... would have to be a mutual trade-out for opportunity.

We should be going after Ollie Henry. He isn't the key forward that we need but he is a very good player, a good overhead mark and I could see him kicking 50 goals in the right team and with good development.

We should just get Ollie Henry.
We should just.

Goody, Choco and Greg Stafford should just jump in a car, put on balaclavas, drive over to Olympic Park, grab him, tie him up, put him in the boot, and just bring him back to the club.

Just get him. No need to negotiate a trade. Just done.

I would like this. I might even watch footy classified if Caro could do a live cross to Ross Lyon in a flak jacket outside Casey oval giving updates about the latest developments in the MFC hostage siege situation

Special negotiator Sugar Healy on standby to bail Goody up in the carpark and sort things out.

Ross Lyon: "Yes, Caro, it looks like they've established a line of contact with the ITKs who will try and diffuse the situation. Failing this, they've indicated they may send in someone dressed in a Danger Mouse costume, spouting riddles, to try and confuse them long enough to enable establishment of what seasoned negotiators refer to as a "Trojan Caravan". I'll keep you posted".

Not exactly sure why we need to give him a multi-year deal as I can't imagine there's much opposition interest, but still, handy depth (when fit). Hopefully he can get a decent run up forward next year

GWS into Bedford apparently, sounds like an easy opportunity to get another third round pick in (assuming they don't accept our starting offer of a straight swap between Bedford and Toby Greene).

Best news ever.

Not only is Toby gone but we are clearing the small forward decks for Bruest , its all coming together.

Toby = Toby

Makes sense to me. Can't see why GWS would say no.

I, for one, am keen for next year's forward line of:

HF: Greene Gunston Breust
FF: Fritsch Gawn Pickett (with Zurhaar rotating off the bench)
