If we were to get Logue and Clark that totally transforms our backline. It all of a sudden becomes balanced, flexible, creative and versatile. Could do with a genuine lockdown small, but other than that it looks sorted. Plenty of growth and development still to come with all of those players too.

B: McDonald, McKay, Corr
HB: Clark, Logue, Thomas

Int: Hall

Depth: Perez, Young, Bonar, Dawson, Bergman, Archer.

If Hill gets involved with the Clark deal it may end up looking like Clark, Hill and a future third (or "turd" as I've learned is the Irish word for it) for our future second and fourth or something like that.
Yeah good call and that’s probably why they willing to trade Clark out for future second by having us take all hills salary also

I think you can forget the Clark trade

Yeah I can’t see it. They need to get more younger guys in to balance their list, I’m not sure why they’d be that eager to move on one of their few bright young talents for a future 2nd.

If they were going to offload one of their younger developing brigade I'd be offloading Coffield before Clark. Clark will end up having a far better career imo.

If there is some sort of fire sale, someone tee up Gresham as well. Cheers.

Don’t think we should judge the assistance package until after we’ve exhausted it, who knows what handshake deals are in place.

I’ll be stoked if we walk out of this with Logue, Clarke, #1 and Cooper, anything above that and we’re laughing.

Where’s the GOAT?..

Along with trading pick 1, the historical rarity I don't need to go into, it was this idea:

That I find absurd. I can't think of a single time this has happened, at least since I started really paying attention to player movements (around 2011). A player, who is uncontracted, changing his club of preference - during the trade period - because the club he has told he wants to join won't stump up enough for the club that is he is leaving. Compare this to the PSD route that has been used twice in the past three trade seasons.
Fair, I admit it's unlikely, although I'd note that I don't think we have official confirmation that he's nominated us exclusively, right?

And for the pick 1 stuff, that's just me expressing what I think is tge best move for us in tge short term and as we strive to win a flag. I have no idea what will actually happen.

Tge psd stuff might have happened elsewhere but I think that's irrelevant. It always gets brought up here that we will do it, but we bever have and I don't believe it's a credible chance this year

The aspect of the package which is not getting much attention is the two rookie spots - two Cameron Zurhaars would be better than a Pat Walker and a Connor Menadue, thanks

Logue has requested a trade to North Melbourne, not Victoria. We're in the box seat and these uncontracted player deals never fall through. I really doubt Clarko and Viney would even blink at using the PSD. Just the threat of it is enough to facilitate a deal that is well under his market value.

Bingo.

In: Logue, Tucker
Out: 55, future 2nd (PP)

Then

In: 27, Clarke, Hill
Out: future 2nd, future 3rd (PP)

That leaves us with the following picks

1, 27, 66

Futures

1st (NM), 3rd (NM), 4th (NM)
I’m sorry but any time I see a post formatted like this I can’t be the only one that skips over it.

Clark, Perez and one of Sleevo/TT/Hall coming out of the backline completely changes how we move forward and attack. The 2-3 slow, sideways chips before a 50m long and 30m high roost down the line will be a thing of the past. 15-30 diagonal darts and switches that actually work will give our forwards a chance for the first time in how long.

If we could do the trade for a future second that would be a great result for us and it would be another draft f*** up to add to the Saints' list considering Naughton went directly after their B2B picks in 2017.
