Final AFL Club List Lodgement

North Melbourne CEO Ben Amarfio said the club now has some clarity as it heads towards this year’s trade period.

“We thank the AFL for considering our submission,” Amarfio said. “We feel like we had a strong case for some on-field assistance based on our recent performances.

“We’re one of very few clubs to have never received priority selections previously. This will now give us some real flexibility as we look to add some experience to our young and talented list.

“James Gallagher and our list team have worked hard to get this package across the line and we now look ahead to the upcoming trade period.”

So to recap, now that 2 rookie spots are confirmed and the shittiness of our PP hand has been dealt... lets say four trade targets come in:

  • 2 Freo deals - PP future 2nd and 3rd for logue and tucker
  • 1 TBC low pick deal - say future 4th rounder or PSD for Bedford
  • A possible salary dump for Hill or maybe a free agent like Gunston.

Then there's three mandatory national draft spots to fill: Cadman, Harvey, and some rookie.

It could be that someone in orange gets a reprieve after all.
I doubt it is Atu, Walker or Jed getting a reprieve Turner would be my bet.

Hunter Clark would be a MASSIVE get.

We are extremely likely to secure Hunter Clarke.

Will be an absolute gun for us from a leadership and playing perspective.

Has met Clarko
Love your confidence.
Just can’t see how it gets done, unless:
  • gws or gc have agreed to trade for pick 1 (unlikely)
  • the saints agree to take our future 2nd for one of their best players (also unlikely), or
  • the saints are so thrilled that we’re taking one of their most talented players (hill) off their hands, they throw in another for a bargain basement rate (like real unlikely)
Any other option I’ve missed?

And a future first maybe....

Clark is a pick 7 with massive upside, skills on both feet and leadership material.

Kayne Turner is about to be rookie listed....

You drive a hard bargain. We’ll reluctantly throw in Atu Bosenavulagi as well.

Our future first rounder for saints future first rounder and Clark.
That is the rumour.
Saints want top end draft talent without bottoming out.

I think you gents can put the Clark talk to rest if you are talking second round picks etc.
certainly ways to get it done if split pick 1. North needs players in the 22-27 bracket, not more draftees....if can split pick 1, daresay we could package something up to look at Clark and still take a high end talent in the draft, use our existing back end pick for Harvey, and use the PP's and threat of PSD to take half of freos team or however many want out of there.
