Would be good if we could trade pick 1 + next years second rounder for GWS' 3 + 14. Ideally we could then trade 14 for Clark + Hill, leaving us with pick 3 (cadman), hill, Clark, logue & tucker which wouldn't be a bad haul.

Bring in pick 1, cooper, Logue, tucker, Hill and 1 more

I would prefer Rozee and butters over lukociuos?

There are positive and negative examples for both scenarios. All I know is 1 player doesn’t make the difference unless he is special. Is wardlaw or candman special? You mentioned it falls away after the first 4? I hear this pretty much every year, but it seldom proves true.
What I also know is you are a better chance in drafting a special player with multiple picks rather than putting your eggs in one basket. I’m not a draft watcher but it seems like Brisbane are getting the player that is a cut above everyone else?

In the end it’s all about accessing the talent but it is still guess work. That’s why I think there is merit in having a bit of quantity too.

Personally I don’t think the 2018 super draft is the best to compare. By all reports this draft isn’t that strong. There is a strong top 4 & the general belief is that it really falls away after 10-12.

Understand your point and I’m all for bringing in multiple picks at once, but I don’t agree that we should trade our best draft asset to do that. We have the opportunity to add an absolute A grader to our current mix with pick 1 (becomes pick 2), and I suggest we do that rather then trying to be too cute.

I think we both agree that we need more picks then what we currently have in 2021. I look forward to seeing how we improve it.

We may, we have different people in charge now…it’s not the old skool recruitment team of old that gave up pick 20 for CCJ…It’s a good faith pick…Could be totally wrong but don’t think freo has much power here especially with the same manager managing lobb who they won’t trade…

I don't mind intruders, unless they come here to start arguments about picks and trade value. As if any of us have any say.

Logue will have plenty of oppurtunity to show what he's got. He'll basically be handed the exact role that he is suited to. I think that money and oppurtunity are valid reasons to switch jobs.

We have 1 pick in the first 3 rounds and will probably end up over paying for cooper who looks like a type we don’t even need? This draft is almost a fail before it’s even happened. Getting only one quality kid in a draft where you finished last for the year isn’t a win.
The only way it is a win is if that kid is a one-in-a-generation player.

You forget live trading. We should be able to pick up picks using our future 2nd or 3rd or do a deal with one of the clubs needing a salary dump which will include a draft pick or two they won’t need

I think that there's a decent chance that after this Thursdays Metro/Country match there won't be much consideration of trading pick 1.

I also don't like these "future 1st for Clark and their 1st" trades. If we do that trade then we need to address our forward line, not depth. Otherwise we surely are trading a top 5 pick.

The only exception being if we are landing Bedford and Gunston in other moves, as well as Clark.

Nah, I like your trades. They're a balance to all those other suggestions where it seems like other clubs exist only to strengthen our position (despite years of evidence to the contrary).
Of course I wouldn't want you within a ****ing bull's roar of the recruiting department though!

I’m 50/50 on this deal

Could backfire big time the top end of next years draft with nick Watson, Harley Reid looks elite but I do rate Hunter Clark highly and saints first pick should still be decent
