Right, can we start stapling this to some peoples heads:

If a club tries to dud another, those who feel they’ve been on the wrong end of the bargain will remember. With live trading on draft night, you never know when you might need to call in a favour.

“The occurrence and the regularity of a win-loss scenario is very rare now.
Staple it to the top of the thread as well!

I could see GWS drafting mids to replace the two they are losing but you're right, the gamble is they take Cadman as more of a need. I imagine they'd probably be fine sitting where they are and taking Tsatas.

There could be a situation where they are desperate for Cadman, we get 3 and an early teen pick (Richmond first perhaps) and still have Wardlaw/Sheezel slip to us and then go for Jefferson as a KPF option.
Keeler is the key forward option I want, he does things that others can’t.

Still think Richmond won “that trade” comfortably

This sounds great.

It just neglects the fact that it makes little sense for GWS to trade two first round picks to move up two places. Like us, they are stacked with mids.

If GWS offers 3 and another first for 1, then we probably do it. What people demanding we trade Pick 1 ignore, is the fact that this offer won't come.

Also hypothetically, what happens if we trade Pick 1 & GWS/West Coast take Sheezel & Cadman?

Are they though stacked with mids if they lose hopper TT and Bruhn

How are they stacked?

Losing Taranto, Hopper, Bruhn. Callan Ward will finish end of next season.

They need midfielders.
I expect Coniglio, Kelly, Green, Callaghan, Ash, Whitfield, O'Halloran & Perryman all to run through the mid moving forward. This draft is also full of mids, so they'll be able to get some with their other firsts if they need.

This time last year, they were vocal on the fact that a KPF was their biggest need. I don't expect that to have changed. The fact that Cadman is a GWV Rebel, only would make him more appealing.

Which takes me back to my point, why would they overpay for Pick 1? They won't IMO.

What’s his physicality like. I haven’t seen a lot but what I did see he seemed to get pushed off the ball quite easily, sure he can gain strength but was it a bad day or an actual weakness

100% they could go with midfielders.

They wanted key forwards last year, but they did pick up a key forward in Wade Derksen in the mid-season draft who showed plenty in his short time at the club.

Hogan, Himmelberg, Riccardi and Derksen is pretty solid key forward depth.

Yep.

I'd be fine with trading Pick 1 for Pick 3 and another first rounder. My point is, I don't think GWS would do it. I also don't think we should be doing it to get Cadman, because I think there is a high possibility GWS reach for him.

He doesn't have the brute strength to throw his body around at the moment, he is still very lean and raw. But in saying that he doesn't mind attacking packs and throwing his body at the aerial contests. His upside compared to Jefferson is huge.

Please in future refer to him as Taranto. I skipped a few pages and had aminor heart moment when I thought you meant our TT. How can this be was the alarming thought that ran through my head.

Agreed, I've based it solely on the expectation that they are keen on Cadman and think we might have him in sight.

I’d really like to know what GC want in return for Bowes and pick 7 , I doubt that they would just giving it away in order to salary dump . There has to be more to it .
Might be where Bowes wants to go too

I don't mind Tucker, but I would take Bowes over him everyday of the week, even with the rumoured contract figure.

Bowes a far better player.
At a guess Tucker would be 300-350k
Bowes 850k.
He would want to be better.
500k is another good player.

Their cap is so farrrked up they cant afford to pay the Bowes contract or the contract of the pick 7 draft pick. After the initial 2 year contract pick 7 must get min $450,000 contract. Plus they are going to receive pick 5 from adelaide for rankine. Pick 7 is expendable, they will do the deal for a late draft pick.

That is my understanding anyway.
