I thought if you brought in a free agent then you get no compo back for losing one. Is this not the case?

It is the net result - say a club loses a player on a huge contract but signs another FA on a much more modest contract - might be end of R1 compo.

Dunkley, Ashcroft, Gunston. The Lions look like they are going to have a good offseason.

yeah I think Gunston a very good get for them....told my lions mates here they should have taken BBB instead of Daniher....a guy who will reliably slot goals and what he doesn't mark Cameron will mop up. Daniher and Hipwoods are too similar, and Hipwood for mine is massively over rated....Also think their midfield gets shown up under the intense pressure of physical finals footy. They really needing some inside grunt.

It's like if you go to DFO looking for something in particular (Logue) but you see a Hunter Clark for sale. You'll be heartbroken if they don't have your size when 2 minutes earlier you didn't care about Hunter Clarks.

Next thing you're walking out with a Logue, a Clark, a Tucker, a Cadman and a Harvey.

hmmm....i speculate WCE may be looking to split 2 with the knowledge that we take Cadman at 1 (after bidding on old mate). ie/ splitting 1 would allow Cadman to fall to WCE at 2 and the 3rd leg of the above trade wouldn't transpire......I dunno Im just speculating.
