Port - Georgiadies and pick 8 to WC for Rioli and pick 2

Pick2 and Ports future 1st for JHF

We grab Wardlaw and Cadman with 2 first rounders coming next year. Puts us in a strong position for 2 drafts or to recruit a big name with next years 2 x round 1s.

Id be very hesitant to take much in the way of steak knives. Wardlaw, Cadman and Logue sorts us out in defense, in the middle and for big forwards. We already have plenty gunning for flank, wing, pocket spots. We could likely use a ruck, but give it a year and see if CCJ or Xerri can step up.
That's not enough. He stopped trying and it appears that coincided with Port talking to him. WTF is that?

He has so much potential and we've been screwed. campaigners need to pay.

Absolutely floored that Kochie openly admitted to contacting contracted first year players and their parents.
Definitely worth a look by the integrity commission if he's going to openly admit it like that.

Port will lose a young gun in the future and a lot of people will take great pleasure in sending him those soundbites.
Why not now? Port have already opened Pandora's box, by Koch's open admission even, why do we need to take them at their word that Sinn and Bergman won't be traded? Should just talk to their managers and work it from the player side, Port can hardly accuse us of playing dirty...

If we make him sit out next year in Adelaide while he gets his wage there is a fair chance his s**t attitude will see his training standards drop and with any luck he turns into a fat slob who no one wants.

Tough for him but we need to start standing up for ourselves. They were taking the puss with this, they abused our good faith and they need to pay. We may miss a pick 8 and pick 12 but no one will * with us again.

That is worth more than picks given how this unfolded. No way Wardlaw or whoever else we might take tries something similar next year if we do that.

We need to make a stand here. Otherwise who the * are we anymore?

100% agree. I'd much rather the club get nothing for JHF in 12 months time than to accept anything less than overs this year. They need to set a precedent. Have a *ing spine.

Melbourne will use #27 for Brody Grundy.

Hell of a deal from a draft pick standpoint.

Absolutely no idea how they fit that contract in when Collingwood couldn't afford it.
The estimated value of money laundering is about 5pct of all commerce globally. Cash, crypto, anything you like, circumventing the AFL's salary cap wouldn't be difficult. Speaking of which, why in the fk has Whorne-F**kedus, got addidas on his social media when Puma is the club sponsor? Seem to remember him posting himself at the addidas store very early in his days at North.

Things could always be worse.. we could be the Saints whose big off-season signing is Zaine Cordy.

Is Cam Joyce their head of list management?

Preference 1: we get a king's ransom this year

Preference 2: we keep him next year, we have a decent year, he pulls his head in, changes his mind and stays

Preference 3: bidding war between Crows and Port next year

Preference 4: we don't get what we want for him next year and we let him go to PSD

Preference 5: we cave and take a deal this year that doesn't make Port cough up something they don't want to cough up

Wouldn't be surprised. They just got Geoff Walsh and Carl Dilena, with Noble doing their review. It's eerily like how we were 4-5 years ago.

If we keep him for 2023 - a mature player would cop it on the chin. Use it to fuel him. Play out of his skin. Then leave in the next window. Ultimately he'd get a bigger contract and he'd repair his image for the most part. North would still get a good deal.

The current JHF would sook it up and his management would use the media to drive the mental health angle. The AFL would step in because it's a touchy subject. He takes the year off. Port hires him a trainer and they coach him off site under the guise of 'independent training'. Port get him for a cut price deal. Mental health is used still so no player or the media can touch him. AFL will warn supporters that get on his back in 2024 and beyond.

Know everyone is a bit emotional, and rightly so. It's some ****ed up shit at the minute.

That reads like Port trying to negotiate via media and good luck, we'd be going the weasel too.

Lots of water to go under the bridge, we can get a good deal from this if we're smart.

Anyone got Brady’s direct club email?. I will legitimately fill his inbox to make sure he doesn’t * this up lol.
Address: Schnoz@nmfc.com.au

Email Subject: Faaaaaark those campaigners Brady

Email Body: Pick 2 and Future First or tell them to GTFO

Kind regards,

trooroo4life

What would we have to add to pick 8 to trade up for west coasts pick 2?

Pick 8, 2023 F2, whatever extra we get from Port (assuming a pick 25 this year). That might be enough to sway the eagles into taking WA talent at 8.

Then we take Wardlaw and Cadman.

And have 2 first rounders next year. And I’m not sure Port are certainties to jump up the ladder. Esp if they start poorly again, it is possible Hinkley gets the sack and they implode.

Round 1 North team

McDonald McKay Corr

Perez Logue Hall

Sleevo Cunners Scott

Zuhaar Comben Curtis

Cadman Larkey Thomas

Goldy
LDU
Simpkin

Phillips Powell Wardlaw Goater

Sub

CCJ

GC PA F1
PA JHF
NM Bowes 7 and 8

Even this feels light, I feel like Butters or WC 2 has to be involved to get this done. Don’t buy into the Bonner chat, he might be steak knives

I know he's way better than many here are stating, part of the grieving process i think.
Im all for getting more, but for mine pick 2 has to be part of it and i was highlighting how it can get done.

I don't think leaving him in the VFL is a good idea.

The plan would be to convince him to stay beyond 2023, or to have him develop even more, so we get an even better next year if he still wants to leave.
I think that would be up to him. If he was professional and said I will play the year out and then can we seek a trade, then sure play him. But if continues with the bullshit he has displayed this year he can rot in the VFL if Port try and lowball us.

GC are giving up 7 with Bowes because of his contract. In that deal we are handing over JHF for pick 8... Rooboy 96 get your dice out!!!

Maybe Geelong are viewing their shiny new pick 7 and don’t have the cap space to pay Bruhn what they proposed?

Everything has gone very quiet, since the Bowes salary dump and Geelong were linked.
Fair call. Think I saw something on TV through my red wine coloured glasses 🤪

We'd have 2 x first rounders in the next draft as well
This is a flag winning squad :thumbsu:

That’s to be be determined next season.

One more rank season should deliver us Reid. If we are able to add another 2x 2023 R1s (WCE/Port,GWS,GC,Syd) - I’d be on board as that should deliver us Reid and Curtain or Watson or Moir.

By Round 1 2024, this nonsense we are experiencing will all be a distant memory, the critical mass will occur where we’ll just have too much talent to be shit anymore.

Couldnt agree more, it must be top end.

If we got Wardlaw and Cadman -

McKay, Corr and Logue strengthens up our backline. Then we have Scott, Young, Bonar, McDonald, Bergman, Archer, Perez, Dawson and Hall all pushing for spots back there.

Mids/Wing - Cunners, Jy, LDU, Wardlaw, Powell, Phillips, TT, Stevo, Greenwood, Taylor and perhaps Polec.

Forwards - Larkey, Cadman, Comben. Curtis, Zurhaar, Ford, JZ with mids rotating.

Rucks - Goldie, CCJ and Xerri

Why would anyone swap out one of Cadman or Wardlaw for a couple of hohum picks when we have plenty of quality talent gunning for spots
Starting to look like a very promising squad... don't forget to slide Goater into that backline or on to a wing
