Hold JHF
Hold pick 1 and grab Cadman

Trade our future second for Hunter Clark

End trade week

I like Marshall, but will still need some draft picks, I am a firm believer that JHF has the potential to be the next generational player, ie Carey or GAJ, not the same player obviously, but the same impact. We are not seeing the same performances from anyone in this draft bar the guy going to Brisbane as a F/S

Marshall 8 and Future 1st (Tied to WC)
Or
Marshall 2 and Future 2nd
Or
Marshall and WC ant Ports future 1sts

And I don’t give a flying thuck how Port get this to work, happy to keep JHF as we are disgruntled sellers

You are going to be very disappointed.
We would be lucky to get a second round pick on top of Marshall. Pick 2 + him is never going to happen.

We would not get much with him as far as draft picks goes.
It would make trading pick 1 more palatable as we would need cadman far less.

Thats right, it could be why we are even considering trading 1. Marshal and 8? AFL not allowing the future first so that could unlock the options.

In what world do you pass up a young tall who has kicked 45 goals last season. Especially North who are crying out for a second KPP
As I said I don't watch much Port. I rated Sinn very highly last year.

I'd assume, Sinn would come back with more picks as he's not a key to their season next year like Marshall is.

This is a comment made on one of facebook pages on Todd Marshall:

“Hearing from a decent source that big Todd Marshall has been asked the question and has told Port that he is willing to come across to Arden st.
8 + future 1st pick and Marshall”

Marshall surprisingly kicked 45 gls this yr. Thats pretty good.

Although a couple of games i watched, i wasnt that impressed with him.

Correct me if im wrong but i feel like he plays similar to Larkey. Tall, slender, agile enough, very accurate goal kicker, but prone to dropped marks/fumbles.

Is this what we need? Given we sit 18th id certainly be looking at it.

I would ride jhf to adelaide on this
Art Bike GIF by Electric Cyclery

If we got that deal.

a few people on North twitter talking Marshall apparently based on ‘mail’. anyone know anything? obviously not trying to get anyone’s hopes up as he’s a contracted South Australian, but just curious.
Victorian and mates with Jy.

And we can move 8 and 12 for 2 in a separate move.

We're going around in circles. It absolutely does matter what Port gives up.
It doesn't matter to us. Thats the point of the context that you removed from the middle.

All that matters for North is what we give up and what we get.

If Port can convince WC to give pick 2 for free then I don't give a ****. As long as pick 2 comes to us.

I won't make a comment on his deficiencies but I 100% agree that he's very similar stylistically to Larkey in terms of role/best position.

Ditto CCJ, who is best as a deeper stay at home type forward when he's not in the ruck.

With that being said, I'd take him alongside #8 and a F1 and be really happy with the outcome.

If we do end up with Marshall at the end of this, it also explains why we're perhaps not so keen on Cadman. I'd argue Cadman fills a role that we're lacking in (link lead-up tall between the arcs), but if our club's not keen on him then so be it.

You rate him that highly.

How do you compare to Larkey who kick a smiler amount of goals for a worst team?
Marshall is similar to larkey no doubt.
Both are great kicks with there best years ahead of them.
Kicking 45 goals in a year is already elite in my book.
Sinn and Bergman could still be failures just yet. Take the known quantities.

If you had the choice between Marshall or Sinn (or Bergman if you like), who would you take?

In order: Sinn, Marshall, Bergman.

But I suspect we would take any of those 3 + Pick 8 + F1. This is exactly the proposition that we opened with. It's taken them a week to realise Pick 8 + F1 won't get it done, no matter how many times you feed it to the press and pretend it has changed with multi-team deals.

Even with his deficiencies, having 2 23/24 year old key forwards who both kicked 40 goals last year is great. They don’t have to mesh right away but they have about 2-3 to make it properly work. That doesn’t even account for if Comben, CCJ or Edwards make it (doubtful).

If that then allowed us to grab Sheezel, you’re looking at at least a 3 goal a game better side I think, just offensively.

I agree with this. We're essentially saying the same thing, now that we've established knocking back the original offer of 8 + F1 is not considered passing on a deal just to spite Port.

So port don’t value JHF, ok, he can stay for another 12 months, gives us 12 months to talk Butters into coming across

Because trading 12 for Port's F1 gets the deal for pick 2 done. And we get our pick 1, anyway. No skin off our nose.

WC want 12 and we want something off them.

Maybe I suppose:

JHF + 1

OR

JHF + 3 + 12

OR

2 + 3 + f1st (~8-12)

If you weren't keen to move on JHF you'd stick with option 1.

Jhf out to port, in pick 8 future first and Sinn.
Pick 1 out to gws, in picks 3,12,18
18 out to saints for clark
3 Sheezel
8 Jefferson the kpf everybody is desperate for who is 10 on Twomey’s phantom (Cadman is 5)
12 next best
Cooper harvey.
End result jhf out, in sinn, Clark 3 top 12 picks, Cooper Harvey and ports future first.
Afl has said that Port cannot trade their future first so this senario won't happen..
