From memory, there was a lot of talk of us needing outside run in the Richo days, which is exactly what we got Hill in for. Outside running mids won't doesn't work very well with our current game plan tho

Connolly unfortunately is stuck behind Sincs, I'd hate to see him traded/ delisted in a year or two because of that. From what I've seen he's a great user, just needs to be given a go.

Irony is Sinclair averaged 10.8 and 12.6 disposals a game in his first two seasons for us but was given a go. Would he have lasted under Ratten or even got a game if he was in charge?

Wing or HF?

As a small forward where he was actually pretty good, very creative but from memory didn’t get a lot of game time. Fell out of favour in his second year in that constant change and then was moved onto a wing but wasn’t allowed to really settle even then. Connolly seems to have plenty of talent and I’d definitely keep him, I think I’d use him up the ground though, I really don’t see him as defender.

Utterly bizarre if Connelly is desisted. His strengths are two areas we cry out for, run & carry at speed.

Hill on the other hand gives us minimal of both and has looked disinterested during parts of the year. Good decision to get on the front foot regarding him being contracted.

Brisbane's points will be interesting as ashcroft could go top 3.

As for picking off players, couple at essendon look gettable. Otherwise gws might be good to raid.

Connolly should 100% take Hill's job if he goes. There will always be a few growing pains as he progresses and he won't be Sinclair 2.0, but he's definitely shown more than enough to get a game. He's better than Byrnes in my books.

I reckon we should just throw him in the deep end, the more time he spends in the VFL, the more his development gets stunted.

Hill is light years ahead of Connolly. Connolly can barely get near it in the VFL.

We replaced maturing middling players with mature middling players from other clubs and drafted at a lower rate than others. Lethers upside down rebuild.
