Like the year we got Hawthorns future first and then had a crap year:)
The difference with that was that we gave up a draft pick for another draft, so both were unknown quantities. In the current scenario we are giving up a player who a known quantity for a draft pick, which is an unknown quantity.
I wouldn’t do it myself but I’m not the one doing the deals.
swapping firsts is a massive gamble, and id do it for the lol’s,
I’m also glad I don’t get paid to do this for a living cause a gamble like that could be a game changer in the eyes of fans, you’d either be jobless or end up being some sort of mystical deity.
In reality what you did in the off-season would hold little regard for the next year, it’s three years down the track you’d see the results.

We could also be swapping pick 2 and Clark for pick 6 - imagine the PR storm we’d have on our hands then

How can you not love the trade period. Richmond, Brisbane, collingwood etc all load up while we fight it out for the scraps. Now we can generously take on any mistakes they’ve made via salary dumps, who said equalisation isn’t working.

I wonder if Tarryn Thomas us at all gettable in this merry-go-round…

Might just need a change of scenery.

Windhager, Owens and Thomas rotating through the middle and forward is a handy mix of skillsets and sizes.
Edmund : Clark for TT and Pick 1 "likely" :D:D:D:D:D

I was Hayes biggest fan and round one he was huge but realistically he's an undersized battler that's full of heart. He's not a superstar and unlikely to be anything more than a cult figure in the Jason Blake mould. That's still more than handy but he's probably going to be in and out of the side.
Jack played 5 games for us before his injury,so harsh comments IMO.
He was an absolute match winner consistently in all his time at SANFL level.

If Hill & Clark are going when are they going to announce it, didn't they have their exit meetings already, have a look at all the players that have announced already from other clubs they don't wait & not a peep out of the Saints or our players.

Not quite good enough imo but we’ve had worse playing senior football.
Would prefer to look at McMahon.
Wasnt really given much of a chance as a KPF and chucked back when Roughead retired.
Still better options elsewhere but Brown's have had plenty of opportunity and are just good VFL players. Pass

Would like to hear the club come out and say Clark is a required player and will not be going anywhere.
Unless I have missed it, that hasn't happened which makes me think they are shopping him around and
effectively hanging him out to dry. Which is a pretty shameful way to treat a young talented player who
has been through the mill in the past two seasons for reasons beyond his control. There is a lot to hate about
this time of the year and the way the game is going.

Hunter Clark on the block is still, after thinking on it for weeks, absolutely bizarre list management...

Love to be a fly on the wall sometimes in list management

How about the brown boys as DFA’s. Improves our depth. We can’t take 5-6 in the draft.

Why can't we take 5-6 in the draft?

As an example, in 2020 Collingwood took 8 draft picks then 2 more in the mid-season draft. Most of them were pick 30 or later (like rookie draft).

Ollie Henry - going ok, about to ask for a trade
Finlay Macrae - played a few games, not sure
Reef McInnes - played a few games, not sure
Caleb Poulter - played a few games, not sure
Liam McMahon - just delisted
Beau McCreery - pretty important in their prelim side
Jack Ginnivan - pretty important in their prelim side
Isaac Chugg - just delisted

Ash Johnson - played in a prelim
Aiden Begg - played a couple of games, not sure

A couple of hits, jury still out on a bunch, a couple of misses.

The more picks you have, the more chances you have to get players that surprise you.

He looks treacle slow and the simple Jack haircut doesn’t help but he’s actually a very handy footballer. Big mid complements Roma, he can play forward or back, reads the play well, is skilful and a really good kick. I think a mature big body like Hayes was another inspired bin chicken find.

Also strikes me a player that will stand up and get it done when the games on the line.
