I just can't wrap my head around why we'd trade Clark, especially for a second rounder. He's shown plenty to justify being top 10 pick just struggled with industry. He'd be one of the last players I'd look at moving on. I just don't understand our club sometimes.
If he leaves , he would be the one wanting to move - he is contracted and can just stay put.
The same that Grundy can do and if he does DeGoey would be tough to fit in salary cap - this is most probably holding up DeGoeys signing.

Re Clark....Getting your face smashed in isn't the same as tearing a hammy.
No its not, but I have had a similair injury and it doesnt prevent you from training or hitting the gym.

People need to get their head around that its not like the Pelchen era. The club wouldnt be looking at trading out Clark if they thought he would reach his potential. They see his efforts at the club and get feedback from his mates re his off field application.

If he doesnt end up going as Stavro has suggested he gets the wake up call he needs. I have complete confidence in the club making the right calls.

That's Pearl Jam dude

Good band back in the day

Interesting. Not saying that is false at all, but certainly seems pretty odd.

It concerns me that Clark is 24 at the start of next year and still has had almost no AFL midfield experience.

He needs to make it as a mid, otherwise he is really not that useful. Whilst he is creative, he does get exposed defensively.

Perhaps the club thinks he doesn't have the work ethic to make it as a mid. Whilst our club is prone to doing very dumb things, there has to be some sort of explanation as to why they would want to move on a talented bloke in the right age bracket.
I asked him if he knew why the club wanted to trade him. Was pretty vague about it but referred to injury history. Not sure if he was privy to the reason.

No that’s not right

It’s the club and list management pushing him out

He does NOT want to leave

Rumour on the North Board (take it with a grain of salt), Clark gets traded for a swap of Future 1sts.

Would do if that Draft is as strong as they say. NM likely to finish bottom 2.
They're drinking the koolaid over there.
In other words they get Clark virtually for free...even if we improve a bit next year.
Dreaming!

Makes about as much sense as that you didn't like Bruce Doull as a child for some reason and you have concerns based on
the look of his hair that Hunter Clark may prematurely go bald and then trigger your Bruce Doull issues ? Am I right ?

Edit: Legal disclaimer re: You and Bruce Doull if somehow something actually happened and I am psychic. I do not mean to offend.

Taking history into account, the bolded is where you and I differ.

It’s pretty *ed up, even looking at the compo we just received, ultimately it’s just screwing over who ever we have to trade with, as the currency isn’t that great.
I’m sure there’s been background talks to see who we were capable of getting, then giving us nothing to what the players in question are worth, with the afl saying figure it out and be competitive in the process.
So the issue is, the kangaroos got rid of all their talent, including a coleman medallist for next to nothing, then traded out all their draft picks....and are now crying because the AFL gave them sweet FA in compensation and you have said you want to bring in another 6-7 players from other clubs...

What the hell are you lot doing over there at Arden Street?

Yep and Nasiah is getting JHF across to us.

Honestly the amount of s**t talked is insane. One mention by Edmund of how the future second "might" be involved for Clark and your board is popping champagne corks. Oh and Clark knew LDU is primary school so he'll be going there for sure.
One thing we've learnt on here - NEVER pop your champagne corks prematurely - it usually lands up flat :D

I don’t think anyone is denying the hub was a disaster for us.
I think it was a lot worse then people actually think. Happy to take it to pm

Would like to hear the club come out and say Clark is a required player and will not be going anywhere.
Unless I have missed it, that hasn't happened which makes me think they are shopping him around and
effectively hanging him out to dry. Which is a pretty shameful way to treat a young talented player who
has been through the mill in the past two seasons for reasons beyond his control. There is a lot to hate about
this time of the year and the way the game is going.
Sun, completely tangental, but I am looking at your post on an iPad and it is formatted consistent with a poetic voice.
Not quite iambic pentameter.
More Clancy of the Overflow.
I can hear Leonard Teale now…..

Clark might be in the right age bracket to take the step and be what we need, and what he is capable of being.

But he and some others need to make the choice between being young playboys people professional athletes

So what's stopping you liking the post ?
Also I prefer John Stanton.

Hunter is losing his hair unfortunately 😔 he hides it quite well with the headband
