For reference , Clark was taken 10 picks before Higgins in the same draft.

Higgins , off injury had been in and out of Richmond.
We traded a future second ( Judson Clarke ) as well as downgrading our 1st round pick. ( traded to Cats for their 2021 first,. who drafted Holmes )

But i fully expect our management to allow other teams to use us as a doormat ....AGAIN!!!.
Didn't the Tiges get a bit more for Higgins because they got so little for Butler?

Not only trade them, but where does the idea come that we need a salary dump for Hill?

With our retirements and missing out on Bing and JDG, we'd be closer to the minimum TPP requirements than we would be to exceeding the cap.

The idea that another club will get one of our contracted players cheaper if they take Hill with him is one of the more ridiculous silly season ideas I've ever seen floated.

People just think we'll do a Salary dump , because its something the cool teams do.

Because inevitably when players request a trade they get it. And if a team offers you up for trade then it is a pretty quick way for that player to want out anyway.
There are some but very few examples of players being forced to see out there contracts if they ask to go.
Why don't we wait until he requests a trade then? What's the point in people losing their minds over one unsubstantiated tweet?

It's almost like people on here want things to go badly for the club. Like they've got some investment in things going poorly. It's weird.

Doubt that happens

I think we will both hold out and eventually find middle ground
When Clark’s a contracted player, with talent in a demographic we don’t have why would we feel obliged to find middle ground? Recently history is littered with examples of clubs either getting overs in this instance or forcing the player to see out their contract.

As likely as Danielle Laidley coaching Essendon .
Never say never ...... dressed in white, she looks more innocent than James Hird even .......

Exactly it puts the rest of the competition behind terrible decision by the afl and is a big reason why they have salary cap issues
If your willing to keep a player that doesn't want to be at the club and willing hold him to his contract , if the club wants him / it overs - if we let him go you want at least a first round pick - how high is for them to work out.
