$$$$$$$$$$$$$It's very silly that trade radio starts a full week before trade week itself. I don't see why trade week can't start on the Monday after the GF.
Put the word “trade” in anything and your ratings skyrocket.

I'd be shocked if we didn't look at him. It's a glaring area of weakness.
Catching up on the thread old chap and felt the need to quote this one from yesterday morning? Rather odd behaviour.open the other eye

Disagree. It’s nice to have them recap the teams and where they are all at. And go over potential trades. It's very silly that trade radio starts a full week before trade week itself. I don't see why trade week can't start on the Monday after the GF.
Genuinely this all checks out.Sit back, I’m about to nuff it up:
In:
- Jordan DeGoey
- Jack Bowes
- Sam Weedman
- Pick 7
- Lenny Hayes
- new forward’s coach
Out:
- Ben Long
- Brendan Lade
- third rounder for the weed man
Hit the draft with 7,9 and pick the best two players (mids) to go with Windy/Owens/NWM. Bolster forward line and relief ruck with the weed man. Spice up the mids with DeGoey. Replace Long with Bowes.
Result: 2023 flag and sustained success.
One key thing all you nuffies are missing is that Bowes first name is Jack. It’s fait accompli.
Danny Sexton gone.
Always thought he got a bit too much flack (having no idea what exactly he does, it seems impossible for me to know if he is any good).
His decision not ours.

Seems like the Geoff Walsh appointment is making waves already and he hasn't even started in his job yet.Danny Sexton gone.

“Danny we’ve completed our review, and we can’t thank you enough for your efforts over the journey but unfortunately we’re goin-“
“I RESIGN!”
One of the issues with sports journalism and $’s, sometimes they mix as well as oil and water. But I think you’re on the money here.So what you are saying is that we have to pay the $850K salary dump to get pick 7... plus steaknifes Bowes and then pay his wage going forward.
Mmmm.. no wonder the club has pulled out.
"Danny we're halfway through the review and we can't find any trace of you doing anything. What would you say you do here?"

My reading is: Bowes is owed $850k and he is on a $500k pa contract with two years remaining.
Total cost to the new club is $1.85mill by taking on the existing contract over a two year period.
As the total salary cap over those two years is $26mill approximately, the Bowes contract by itself is in excess of 7% of the cap for those two years.
That is a big investment in one player given the pressure to fairly compensate others. Especially when the average is less than 2.5%, and this is compounded by the quality of the player concerned.
The impact of the $850k owed would be defrayed if the contract is extended, say by another year at $500k. But it’s still significant.
The question becomes: can the Club fit the impact of the new contract into the planned salary cap for the next two years? Maybe, maybe not.
You’d hate to lose a Windhager because of it.
But given these numbers, I can see why the Club might not be interested.
Even with #7 as incentive.
I dont rate him but if he can play the hybrid forward/ruck then in reality he was competing with Ben Brown, Max Gawn and Luke Jackson (and possibly Brodie Grundy moving forward).Sounds like I'm the only one who doesn't rate Weiderman.
Wouldn't touch him with a 10ft pole. He's barely average with his output in one of the best teams in the AFL
I would but apparently knocks on his defensive efforts.Should we have a go at Narkle? Delisted by the Cats.
But, but, who is going to get the team on the bus and collect footballs from over the fence at training?Danny Sexton gone.

And if accepted, not much is going back to GC, if anything at all.Yeah that makes sense, and if accurate also would explain why such a good pick is attached to him.
Is he a decent player ?
About the worse rank player in the game for forward pressure

Wonder if he wants to play for another club as well. Or has the search for a new rental consumed all his focus and downtime? Time will tell.
