Honestly the way to fix this broken system is moving to an NBA style model.

No talking to rival players or coaches until free agency hits on midnight.

Capping maximum earnings for traded players who have spent <5 years at a new club.

Draftees have some of their salary paid outside the cap. When traded to a new club they get the full hit.

Proper equalisation.

No academy’s.

Keep father sons. But if they fall at pick 1, than fair game to that club who holds pick 1 as an exception.

Clubs must hold a pick in the round they are bidding towards academy selections/FS

Or you can't renegotiate the contract on a salary dump you take the contract as it is otherwise clubs will just back end contracts on 7 year deals knowing they will trade them out after the get the players best years like Taranto and Hopper

It has been rumoured that Collingwood have told Henry’s manager that they are happy to not do a trade based on how Mackie is behaving.

Seems like a trading relationship is becoming very salty.

Gws will figure that out so 3 might be very getable, also cadman looks good but key forwards who don't stick marks are called busts. If he has that knock on him at u/18 then good luck against afl defenders.

It certainly is but if was as good as I and many others thought why let him go. He obviously has some issues in his game freo don’t like. I love ex players doing well. Never had a problem with it.

I heard him getting interviewed, sounds like Freo put up a decent offer but Blake chose to shop himself around because this is the contract that will take him through his most profitable contract. Carlton have apparently been working on getting him over since earlier in the season. Not sure it was Freo just cutting him loose.

If argue that trading/sighting of Jones/Crouch/ Hannebery/ Hill, Higgins and too a much lesser extent howard. My issue is that this type of trading pushes the development of younger guys and causes issues with culture. I think whenever we’ve had much longer targeted recruiting we’ve been better. Ie Steele membrey Bruce and they all fitted longer term needs. I think hill we got caught up wanting someone who was avilable. Same as Higgins, jones and Hannebery

Sheezel or Wardlaw I'd assume.

I haven't seen anything about an issue with Cadman's marking.
