Unfortunately. Interesting use of words.De Goey's Manager:
“The one thing I would say about the Saints – and Jordy conveyed that to me last night too. As hard as it is to tell the team that might miss out on you, his decision was to remain a Collingwood footballer, it wasn’t to not go to another club such as St Kilda,” he said.
“They put forward a really impressive and strong stance on trying to lure Jordan over. Both he and I were super impressed with the Saints at every meeting we had from everyone within that organisation.
“Unfortunately it didn’t pan out.”

Bottom 6 next 3 yearsWe picked up Crouch as a free agent and we just about snared DeGoey so I would say the club is not doing to bad - treading water for 3 years - well it is how you see it , we have totally burned through the list and we are getting to the stage were we can make a massive leap.
King with a few years under his belt is only going to get stronger and better , kids like Battle have finally found there spot , guys like Steele , Marshall , Wilkie , Sinclair have many years ahead of them if you look at Geelong and the new kids we have brought in look to have fixed us for years to come.

Ah yes, year 10 revisited
Exactly! He was only paid $600 a year or something but they kept pushing it out and not paying all of it. It's got to a point where he is so expensive to pay out that they have to pay someone off to take him.
Geelong will pay him $300 pa as a his base wage but then spread the $400k pa he's going to have added on over the 4 years so he'll be taking $700k per year off them but guaranteed a long term deal to take a hit and get his back pay as he goes for example. If they get him and Humphrey he's being paid a decent wage but not crippling and you get a star kid who won't be earning big bucks for a few years any way.
He can earn one.I think the main thing Bytel would want is opportunities. He’d probably accept a one year deal if he thought he was going to get a game.
Unfortunately. Interesting use of words.
If you give him an extra two years on 300k I doubt he says no.You either pay what’s owing to Bowes in the next two years or you’re out simple as that. No diluting his salary over four or five years to gain a foothold. Either pay up or * off out of the race.
If we were planning on paying JDG 850k+ next year then surely we could paying Bowes that plus some more of his contract next year and smooth it out that way.You either pay what’s owing to Bowes in the next two years or you’re out simple as that. No diluting his salary over four or five years to gain a foothold. Either pay up or * off out of the race.
60% of the time it works, 100% of the time.
I nearly won tattslotto too , DeGoey was playing the game , no person in their right mind would leave Collingwood to come play for us , the two clubs are chalk and cheese , i love my Saints but sometimes you need to be realistic, there will need to be some special connection for us to snare a gun playerWe picked up Crouch as a free agent and we just about snared DeGoey so I would say the club is not doing to bad - treading water for 3 years - well it is how you see it , we have totally burned through the list and we are getting to the stage were we can make a massive leap.

There's a million areas of the club that we can improve without JDG.Without De Goey I can’t see us being a flag threat lbh.
More mid table mediocrity coming up
But no point even trying coz he wants to join that team down the highway just like every other player. You either pay what’s owing to Bowes in the next two years or you’re out simple as that. No diluting his salary over four or five years to gain a foothold. Either pay up or * off out of the race.
So Sheedy either voted for him because of stuff he did in the past that isn’t related to how good a coach he will now be, or because he knew he would not get a majority vote and could therefore do it out of some sort of misguided respect. Either way, I think the board must give the mad parrot a ceremonial vote only. So it probably was unanimous…!He can earn one.
On one hand, good on Sheedy for continuing to back Hirdy in such a public manner. On the other - very destabilizing and self serving to do so. It only comes at the expense of their club.
If I was an Essendon fan I'd be pretty angry about that kind of rhetoric
Then kick it sideways 20m and out on the full…
Bytel to Norf for a future priority pick.
Long, 9 & Norfs future 2nd to GC for Bowes, 7 & 25.
Draft the best mid at 7 (whoever slides out of McKenzie/Phillipou), Elijah Hewett at 9, Oli Hotton a chance to slide to 25, and Charlie Clarke at 28.
Oops I done ****ed it up. I did mean keep 9 as you can tell by my suggested picks.Think we’d rather keep 9 based on Gags’ comments
