Apologies for any inconvenience. We will try to find a replacement.
For sure they will get to where they want to go but once they are signed up a few lists might well need to offload a player to fit some more cap space - Grundy for instance would have to stretch there cap having May , Lever , Petrracca , Oliver , Gawn all on 800+ , even the Tigers would need to offload someone , Graham and pay cuts to Riewoldt etc surely doesn't cut out the 1,5 million the have to find.Surely with all those players having made their intended destinations quite clear the players it impacts most would have already had their name out there.
- Grundy is just a replacement for Jackson but impacts Weideman. A lot on here are not interested in him.
- Taranto & Hopper will impact Graham (Port bound), RCD, Ross: would love us to approach RCD.
- Dunkley probably takes Robinson/Matheson's spot. Not sure anyone great will be leaving there maybe a youngster like Robertson or Tunstill but nothing to get too excited about. Will be interesting to see how they fit Neale, Lyons, Bailey, McCluggage, Berry, Zorko, Raynor all in their team but imagine they will find a way.
There are plenty of office jobs that pay that figure and don't beat up your body, we'll, maybe your liver and kidneys.Ultimately. He is probably going to be out of the system if he doesn’t improve at the end of these 2 years. (He will be 26)
An additional 1-2 seasons on 150-300k per year (additional to what’s owed) is a * load better then working in an office and playing suburban footy

The kid never really went to a good club , considering he was drafted after the training camp debacle which they are only just getting over , when Covid hit - being pick 6 in the 2019 draft he would have some ability and most probably be a good kid to have in development being 1.96m and 21.An Ormond boy. plugger66 would be all over it![]()
We have a ace up our sleeve because we have a player that wants to go to Gold Coast and few players are willing to go there.Long and 27.
Bowes, his crazy contract, Pick 7 and Pick 30 back.
Pick 7 is for the contract off their books.
OR...
Long and a future second.
For Bowes, his crazy contract, Pick 7 and 30 back.
They want more picks next year.
He’s owed $1.7 million over 2 years. They might have said we’ll chuck another half a million 2 x 250k and do that over 4 years. $550k x 4 that way.I haven't had my coffee this morning, but am I missing something here ... was owed $850 pa x 2 years, but now they're going to pay him the SAME amount spread over 4 years? Why would he take that?
About time the Pussies got some quality through the door
Maybe we should offer to pay him 1.2mil next year to clear a chunk off the books and allow us to make a play for someone in Free Agency next year and then have him back at $400k (or whatever he is actually worth) for another 3 years. He’s owed $1.7 million over 2 years. In all reality if that was us over the salary cap , we would most probably of got a fine or even had premiership points taken off us.Maybe we should offer to pay him 1.2mil next year to clear a chunk off the books and allow us to make a play for someone in Free Agency next year and then have him back at $400k (or whatever he is actually worth) for another 3 years.
Would nicely set him up for the move south
Can only assume that they have not breached their salary cap yet... but will if they dont clear players, hence the fire sale.In all reality if that was us over the salary cap , we would most probably of got a fine or even had premiership points taken off us.
I can't figure out how there has not been a uproar about selling off your debt with draft picks.

This and Bruhn are surely the end of the Bowes interest.

Salary dumps are here to stay IMO. Honestly, it makes a lot of sense in the AFL landscape.Certainly not responsible business and dare say AFL will be watching it more closely in the coming years

Jeez, while still being able to hold on to this year's first round pick. You'd imagine. You'd expect they'd have to pay up for both of those.
Oh wait.
Cotton On will just give out jobs to people they know.
Not against the salary dumps but you probably should be able to project your salary to be pretty close to what it should be not be projecting to be 1.5mil over like GC areSalary dumps are here to stay IMO. Honestly, it makes a lot of sense in the AFL landscape.
Sure, it helps the teams that are already at the top, but they are essentially mortgaging off their future. It also helps the bottom teams build up quality playing lists faster.
Look back at the last 10 years, would you have rather that we pay guys like Billings $800k, guys like Bruce, Webster, Newnes $600k just to make sure we reached the minimum cap? I would have preferred we could have paid them their market rate and use our surplus cap space to bring in more draft picks.
Selwood, Dalhaus and Higgins going out, not to mention their delistings and likely outgoing trades (Ratagalea etc.)Not sure about that, Geelong seem to have an unlimited salary cap, amazing how they can keep fitting in all these new recruits.
are you sure you weren't followed ?Without De Goey I can’t see us being a flag threat lbh.
More mid table mediocrity coming up
