They'll probably have more soon after Hopper goes.GWS now have picks 3, 12, 15, 18, 21.
They currently have 7095 draft points with the hopper, whitfield trade to go it is highly likely they will have 9000 draft points or the equivalent of 3 pick 1'sI think GWS want to move up the draft board. It’s rumoured they have their sights set on pick 1.

Our strategy was always the draft. De Goey was a Free Agent and as such did not impact our draft position. But we aren’t having a rebuild. That line of thinking is just wrong. And I don’t really see what’s confusing about our strategy. We missed out on De Goey, who was the type of player we need, but there aren’t many other realistic targets. So we go back to the draft hopefully with two first round picks.
Makes a lot of sense. The Clark stuff confuses me but I’m not sure what the true story is.
Looks like they're starting from scratch. Could finish last next year. They currently have 7095 draft points with the hopper, whitfield trade to go it is highly likely they will have 9000 draft points or the equivalent of 3 pick 1's

You can mock Newnes but he played over 200 AFL games, not a bad effort for a fair player.
Gags did come out very early and say our trade period would be quiet and we would be focusing on the draft. Hundreds of pages on this thread would suggest many of us forgot this little tidbit. Never mind that we’ve spent years calling for the drafting of kids and no more major top ups!Considering everyone on here wants to see trades just for the sake of making things happen, it's pretty understandable. Trades give supporters hope.
Just for interest
GWS currently have picks 3, 12, 15, 19, 44, 61, 63, 79.
Yeah sorry Jack. You can mock Newnes but he played over 200 AFL games, not a bad effort for a fair player.
We’d be extremely lucky to get 19 by itself.I would be happy with GWS picks #12 & #19 for Hunter Clark?
That’s the knock on him from recruiters.Sheezel or Wardlaw I'd assume.
I haven't seen anything about an issue with Cadman's marking.
100% offloading just hopper will get them 9000 points and if they get what they want for hopper will have 7 top 19 draft picks.I think they are looking to offload only one of those players.
Or Khamis. The first ten seconds I have listened all week. Holy moly. They need an IQ threshold to let these people on the radio.Someone on tR wanted us to trade 9 for Lachlie Hunter - lel
Giants are always keen to move upThey'll probably have more soon after Hopper goes.
Can't see why they'd be that interested in our picks though unless we want to do something like 9 for 12 and 18.
Maybe if we take one of their overpaids they might give us something juicy.
If we could afford degoey we afford pick 7Gags did come out very early and say our trade period would be quiet and we would be focusing on the draft. Besides De Goey, who would have cost nothing picks-wise, who should we have gone after? I say we should be pleased we’re not chasing random players for the sake of it - just to look like ‘destination club.”
Cordy was probably a good move as we needed insurance down back, that also cost us bugger all.
We all got seduced by pick 7, but it looks like the banker is holding onto the purse strings so WE don’t get ourselves into a situation where we need to salary cap dump and lose good players in the future.
We’ve got improvement to come in our three from last year, improvement from Coff and Hayes returning and hopefully improvement from Clark, and to a lesser extent Hill, being told some home truths. North haven’t even made an offer for Hill.
Can’t ever say we’ll never get injuries, but if Higgins and Gresh can stay injury free that’ll provide a big boost too.
Doubt the Giants would be?I would be happy with GWS picks #12 & #19 for Hunter Clark?
Unfortunately for Higgins, I suspect there's a 3rd way he might go - the Koby/Paddy way.I'd like it on the record that I think, on top of the concussions, that the "he's just selfish" stuff got to Higgins.
IMO there are two ways Higgins can go: selfish, productive Higgins or non-AFL standard Higgins. I want him hungry for goals. We have others for the pressure and the unselfish stuff, but Higgins is a point of difference in his ability to score himself at that size.
There is a right and wrong way of doing things.10 years ago. Many on here wanted him gone before 2009.
