The scenario of being aggressive this off season and trading up in the draft is worth considering. In my opinion, we are 1 or 2 elite talents away from being a genuine premier threat. We either trade for these talents … preferably mids … or move up in the draft to get a Moir type. What it takes to do so is debatable, but it’s certainly worth a lot of thoughtIf they have pick 1 this year, they should - they need to rebuild nearly an entire list a.s.a.p.
It wouldn't be us though - it'll will be a club with 2 decent 2023 r1 picks already - GWS, North, WB.
We could maybe get involved by trading our 2024 r1 pick and one of the North/GC r2 picks for a mid/late r1 pick from a high finishing club, and then that and our 2023 r1 pick for a top-5 pick if WC got one and Moir was still on the board (assuming we're keen on Moir).
WC could potentially have 4 r1 picks this year in this scenario.
