Edwards as an elite ruck talent to eventually replace ROB would be a decent shout

My hope for our first is still a mid, if possible, though
No chance.
ROB is our new Sauce. Will be locked in until he’s 35 years old and then take up a lovely job at the club.
It’s how we roll.

Talent and class doesn’t mean a whole lot if you’re not showing many signs of competitiveness

Lots of examples of that in recent times that were high draft picks, or were touted to be

Not saying Moir is guaranteed to go down that road, but he’s not exactly filling me with confidence this year

He ain't playing like a 1st round pick at all this year, needs to lift his compeitiveness big time in ground ball contests.
What's your thoughts on McAuliffe?

Worth going after if we have a pick in the 10-12 range?

Hard to see at this stage who will suit in our range re mids , but I guess it will get more obvious

Whereas Edwards you’d expect to be right in our range

Could end up a Galluci v English situation

We clearly still need midfield talent and something which is different from what we already have.

So we need pick wisely.

Size, power, skills and class.
It’s got to be there though

If we have pick 11 and there’s not much there we may end up doing another galluci

Might need to just pick the best player regardless of position

Once the ball hits the deck he's been very very ordinary this year so far....as the class has gone up he hasn't risen with it...
He’s slowly pushing beyond 1st round unless he turns it on in champs

Sad to say it happens to one or two SA kids every year

Sure, but theres no point picking more of the same. That should be a part of the discussion around "best player regardless of position"

This years draft looks to be pretty strong at this stage. There's some really good mids especially big sized left footer mids and some good ruck prospects. So if we can grab a couple of these mids and a good tap ruckman our list is looking pretty good. I guess we will probably want to trade out next years first round pick so hopefully we can get another early pick as well.

The reports on Twomey's podcast this week was that most recruiters were starting to get a bit worried about the quality of this year's draft.
