Same rule applies to this thread as other years, keep it on topic about the kids.
Don’t get bogged down on what other teams might do or where they will finish.

Trade speculation belongs here.

That's also where you can discuss your mock drafts or pick trades.

Any McCabe, Dear or Maginness talk belongs here.

Up to 13 at half time now as well as 6 tackles. All from the back line. Could have had another half a dozen touches where he was free but the Carlton players ignored him then turned the ball over.

He looks a level above but that could just be down to how bad the blues VFL team is.

Agreed he’s too good for school footy. Nothing for him to learn there. Better for him to learn at VFL level.
No need to bash and crash him week on week against mature bodies. Let the kid have some fun against his peers whilst he still can I think

Still got the Coates league and champs to play against kids rather than having every game against mature bodies.

The experience against senior bodies would be invaluable for him. Especially as he will play against mature bodies every game from next year onwards. Getting a taste of it now would do more for him than beating up on players he’s way better than.

And recruiters will want to see how his size impacts his game against adults, not kids.

Very much so. Honestly I’d really like to see most top talents play a VFL game or two.

But most especially Watson as he has such a wide variety for potential performance at the highest level.

Elliot contests the forward entry, follows up to get the ground ball and snaps the goal. Problem was the camera decided we need to see what was happening about 20m left of where the play was as the ball hit the ground.

Difficult for a 2m+ forward in the conditions. Elliott will struggle to show his wares.

No one really lightening it up. Very messy across the ground. You know it’s muddy when they move the centre circle mid-game for bounce ups.

Was tempted to go as its not far from home, but the rain certainly dampened my appetite, and it’s made it a difficult watch.

That's interesting. Tbh in the curtin raiser last year you could see that midfield potential. He really moves well in traffic for his size. I don't see him as a monster KPD. More a rebounding third tall or perhaps that big mid.

Note that
18 of the 26 were contested
+ 11 tackles.

That's a massive game

Reid hype going up another notch:

"All the hype you‘re hearing about Harley Reid – the Dustin Martin comparisons, the talk about wooden spoon favourites playing for the ‘Harley Reid Cup’ – is real. Very real.

The proof? One experienced recruiter told foxfooty.com.au Reid was the best prospect they‘d ever seen come through the draft system – and if 17-year-olds could be drafted, he would’ve been taken last year … in the first three picks."
