Coffield was going to develop into a mid. So was JB. Jack Higgins was going to pinch hit in the midfield.

If youve seen any of them attend one centre bounce youre doing better than me

I hope we have a crack at this if Sydney pass on it. To get 17-18-21 would be exciting especially since it seems like clubs have different opinions on players in this area of the draft. Obviously those picks will be pushed back but still 3 late first rounders .

I know and mentioned to a few privately that sos and Rawlings had spoken.

So as long as whoever north wants is there then I imagine we have the same offer

Season fixture is out
Rounds 5 & 14 are tough, have to travel interstate on 6 day break/s.
Rounds 4 & 5, we have to travel interstate.
After the bye we play at Marvel every round bar round 17, where we travel to play Adelaide, that's awesome.
Two at the 'G'

Melbourne is circling key tall Daniel Curtin and made the 8000km round trip to interview his Western Australian livewire teammate Koltyn Tholstrup.

The Demons are in a strong position to land Curtin as a flexible key position player who could emerge as the long-term replacement for 31-year-old Steven May.

The Hawks will have the first call on the 195cm Curtin at pick four but could instead pick up exciting small forward Nick Watson, while the Bulldogs like midfielder Ryley Sanders at five.

It means the Demons could land Curtin at six and then take exciting forward-midfielder Koltyn Tholstrup at 11 after visiting him in Esperance in regional WA last week.

Gun recruiter Jason Taylor is believed to have flown to Perth and then taken a light plane to the southern tip of WA to meet the 188cm goal kicker and his parents.

It is understood the Demons are the only club to have made the mega trip down to Tholstrup’s hometown to interview the popular and physical game winner.

The Demons also have Windsor in the mix to help bolster their transition game, but would be ecstatic to secure Tholstrup if Windsor is already gone.

As the Herald Sun revealed last month, West Coast remains interested in swapping its future first-round draft pick with either Hawthorn or Melbourne to land Curtin.

But the Demons and Hawks are expected to knock back that offer in the chance West Coast bounces up the ladder next year with an improved injury list

Twomey -

Swans would like to trade up for O’Sullivan. Thinks he will be drafted between GWS and Adelaide pick latest

Thinks Sanders is the favourite for the dogs pick

Thinks it’s an “excellent 11” now includes Windsor, Who has takers in the top 10.

And SOS on gettable tomorrow

We can have 3 Cat B rookies now apparently. ( We have 2 now i think ).

But it always used to be 2 Cat B rookies.

I can see a bit in google but not beyond the paywall. It always used to be 42 players including normal rookies and main listed players.

Every club except for North Melbourne and Gold Coast can sign a maximum of 44 footballers for next season, comprising between 36 and 38 on the primary list, four to six category A rookies – depending on the size of their primary list – and up to two category B rookie

They really like making complicated rules , then dicking around with them.
We met Liam McConnell today at RSEA park…nice height but very lean.
Still jet lagged after arriving yesterday.

If we get Wilson it would be sensational and make for a very satifying draft night.

Pick #13 = Darcy Wilson
Pick #21 = Charlie Edwards
Pick #40 = Cooper Simpson
Pick #50 traded in = Harvey Johnston

Rookie draft = Will Dawson, Tarkyn O'Leary & Vigo Vinsenti.

I wonder who North are wanting to move up to 12 or 13 for? I gather if none of our rated players get through then we look at the North trade and slide back a few with another first round pick.

If we trade with North -

Pick #17 = Charlie Edwards
Pick #18 = Lance Collard
Pick #21 Cooper Simpson
Pick #40 - Will Dawson

Rookie draft = Tarkyn O'Leary & Vigo Vinsenti.

The Sydney list grump alluded to a top 12 I think it was and that they’d see if any fell through, otherwise possibly trade back. Green before I pick is probably a pipe dream

I just can’t see North accepting only 13 without something reasonably significant (ie, more than 13 and 40). Alternatively, 13 and 21 for 17,18, but we move 40 up into the mid 20s (for Simpson 😃)? I don’t think they have such a pick, so obviously that’s going to be tough and not sure that three way trades are realistic in the live situation.

So this year at No.12 it will be more about the best player possible. That may change on the night depending who's there, but I think it will be the best player available."

On specific players who shape as options for the Swans at pick No.12, Beatson said Northern Knights ruckman Will Green would be in the mix, but he did not expect Nate Caddy or Connor O'Sullivan – who would otherwise be in consideration – to be available by that point.

I'd prefer Tholstrup over Windsor, but Wilson ahead of both
Twomey thinks Windsor is a top 11 talent and has admirers in the top 10.

HSun saying if he is at 11 the dees would be keen.

We need Essendon to take him at 9 and not trade back with Adelaide. That could **** us

"Tholstrup is a dynamic forward who can also pinch-hit in the midfield"

Noone we draft who were told can pinch-hit in the midfield or "will develop into a fulltime mid" ever does.
Bont rings a bell. Halfback turned mid. De Geoy, Rozee, Butters, Shai Bolton, Jye Simpkin, Jack Steele were all forwards with the potential to be mids in their draft years.
