Not a chance that North will get a PP and a Band 1 for McKay. The PP will essentially be the Band 1 as trojan horse, as it was for Frawley. Also, not sure how you have Gold Coast being able to afford 3 matched selections in the top 10.
Yeah The AFL aint giving North a first round priority pick on top of band 1 compo for mckay and their NGA guy.

Why doesn't JT ever get stick for taking Augustus Brayshaw at pick 3?
Brayshaw has still had a pretty solid career despite a few form slumps over the journey. Only bloke you could argue we should have taken who was available around the same mark is De Goey. Most of the first round that year didn't make it.

On your actual post schmuttt, The West (and people like Sumich associated with it) has remarkably degraded even further this year with a new editor brought on with the mission to basically turn the sports into something resembling a tabloid.

Does he think Freo are gifting games to Victorian kids to ward them off from going home?

Also Jackson and Pickett into a good side, Rowell into a horrific side, terrible example

Yeah I’m starting to firm on Reid even if the price is concerning. Look at Daicos and Ashcroft developing in good sides versus your regular high picks in shit teams. Even Dogga for us benefited immensely from his time at Melbourne imo

Hope we trade it all for pick 1 then JT picks someone other than Reid for the melts
More lies from Goodwin. It's to be expected.

Meanwhile in the west

Best part is where Sumich pontificates that we're gifting JVR games to ward off the Eagles as we have so many other great tall forwards who could be playing ahead of him.

Suns will definitely be having 3 academy picks in the first 10-12, 3 jests and they can go into negative. They will probably offload their first pick for a bunch of later picks with higher points value that they can use for academy nominations.

I think we’ll end up with picks 4 (Freo 2023) and 5 (GC 2023). Cost will be 22 (Freo 2023), 33-36 (MFC 2023) and probably our 2024 first rounder to GC. No point trading them out 2023 first because it would just get eaten up by the bid matching. Might need to find some more 2022 points to give them either by splitting 22 or by trading Grundy, JJ, etc

I wonder what it would take for us to trade Grundy to Port. Would strengthen a major competitor given they lack a decent ruckman and their defence is also a weakness. Grundy isn’t as good as Max at getting back to defend but would still be a huge get.

If we paid part of his salary on top of what Collingwood are paying, I wonder if we could get their first rounder…at the very least I’d be wanting a stack of draft points from later picks

They can go into deficit for next year

If Grundy asks for a trade and we don't have to pay a portion of his contract it will happen with maybe a late second rounder coming back at best.

If we're pushing for it cause we have a salary cap or a specific trade in mind (unlikely) we will eat a portion of the contract and get nothing back.

There’s no way we get nothing back, given Collingwood asked for pick 27. It’ll be a combo of him asking for a trade and us paying more of his contract I imagine. If Port can get him and they only have to pay say $400-$500k that’s incredible value for them.

He’s worth more now than he was a year ago.

Reckon the Freo and suns picks are swapped, and might be harder to get 4. Freo should win 2-3 on the way in, suns unlikely to win more than one.

If we're not playing him he's not going to be worth much

The difference between pick 4 and pick 5 is only 150 points, which is ultimately the only thing that matters to the Suns.

Regardless I have them winning at least another three. Wouldn’t be surprised if they get up this week. Dockers are only beating WC for certain and maybe the Hawks at the MCG. They’re not beating Geelong, Brisbane and Port

The Suns have Brisbane, Adelaide, Sydney, Carlton and North. They should win at least 2, maybe 3.

The Dockers have Geelong, Brisbane, WCE, Port and Hawthorn.

Which games are the suns winning outside north?
They could win against any and all of Adelaide, Sydney and Carlton. Seems unlikely they'll lose all three against teams in the same W/L category. Even if they only win one, Freo needs to win three to finish above them. Which game do they win out of Geelong, Brisbane and Port?
