I agree, I'd actually say the bigger risk would be giving up two top 11 picks and potentially a top 10 picks for probably our strongest area of the ground

Spot on. We’re in no position to be saying we only need one first round pick this year.

We need another developing key back, goalkicker and outside mid.

Getting my George gif warmed up for when Curtin goes to the Dogs at 5 or when we pass on Curtin at 6

someone GIF

Makes a good point that we are basically no chance, not much better we can offer than what we have put forward.

If they want McKercher North is firmly in the drivers seat, seems they want Reid so there is no way they'd trade pick 2 to us

I really don’t see how it’s not a win-win for North to get Reid plus pick 3, and West Coast to get their pick of McKercher or Curtin plus another top ten and later first round pick.

I’d say they’re both just biding time and positioning until closer to draft night on what the later pick swaps are and whether they need to bring in another club.

Yeah, if Geelong are offering their pick up North probably have enough ammo to get a deal done there, so likely 2,8 and change for pick 1 and later change.

Good catch up on the situation with reports from Twomey and Clark

Surprised that old mate believes its McKercher the Eagles want if they are trading Reid, so very real chance Curtin could be available at our pick if thats the case

100% we’d take McKercher ahead of Curtin, but I don’t think a deal is done unless Norf pull their pants down and offer pick 2 and 3 for 1. In the event of that happening, we’d take McKercher at 2 and suspect we’d ask you guys about swapping 3 and 23 for 6 and 11. Don’t know if that’s good for your list or not.

Not a chance North offer 2 and 3 imo.

Let’s hope you’re right.

As I said a few posts above, I think they'll improve the offer to something like 2,8 & 18 for 1 & 23 but that will be it. They are bidding against themselves pretty much so can't see them going mental and offering 2 and 3.

They don’t need to, they can’t lose. They either get 2 of the top
3 or they get Reid and another first rounder.

It’s Eagles with a decision to make, do they want two top 10 picks and another first rounder or do they want to stake it all on Reid. With the state of their list the latter sounds a much better option to me.

How are NM getting 8?

Geelong have been taking calls on it, expect them to try and work something with 15 & 17 and/or future picks.

Whether or not that's the best offer and they take something like that I dunno.

Rawlings is looking a little more anxious and a little more hagged with every press conference… I think it’s 2&3 or 2&F1 or nothing for the eagles. We won’t send anything back. In all clubs best interests to keep the picks they have unless you guys have a massive hard on for Duursma over Caddy/Curtin and want to try get up to 3.

If Curtin is available at 6 id hope we stay put. Love Duursma but not enough to give up Curtin + 11 for him.

Won’t happen, if Cats trade with anyone it will be Crows 10&14 or 10&20.

The guys here who were going mental at what we gave up to move up from 14 to 11 would have a seizure if they were Crows supporters and they had to give up that much. 😅

TBH I didn’t quite understand why you did that. Difference between 11 and 14 isn’t like going from 1 to 4. Very even draft from pick 11 (15) to pick 14 (19). I know you only have 2 (or 3?) lists spots but you would have been better off trading into next years draft and keeping 6 and 14 unless you genuinely thought you could get Harley. I don’t think the Cats will accept anything fair if the Ratagolea debacle is anything to go by so yep, they will make the crows bleed worse than you guys did.

Curtin rated above Caddy for list need here? Yeah I reckon that trade would be one that half the board says yes and the other half says no.

Caddy won't do anything for two years and Jefferson will be coming thru by then. I think Curtin is a far bigger need, we need some guys who can kick. We likely go after a KPF next year rather than drafting another to develop. Plenty of cap space in 2024

I'm fine with it, useless picks in the back end, don't mind some guys in the 10-12 range.
