Will the first people to get there be able to park facing the ground ... it's a day game so they shouldn't need to put their headlights on to help unless it is a really overcast day!
I reckon the car parks around the ground will be used for things other than car parking, such as cameras and maybe temporary stands, and general standing room for spectators

Game is "sold out" but looks like it would be pretty much impossible to stop just anyone rocking up on the day and watching with or without a ticket

Just wondering what the new thing Melbourne-based supporters will all start complaining about, now that we have a decent amount of Melb games!! ;)
Wait until we lose one of them...

Not enough games at the G too many at Marvel. ;) It's already started.

Fremantle, Port & Sydney all have three games at the MCG. We only have two, it's a disgrace.

That's the spirit!

That it’s probably a one off

Obviously cricket is different than players competing for an AFL football, but a few of us posters copped a whack last year suggesting we have to live with COVID. Unless there is a new dangerous strain developed I cannot see the 2023 AFL season being interrupted. If the AFL rules are not currently in place won't be long before players and clubs ultimately decide if individuals are fit enough to play, much like influenza.

Cricket is not a contact sport.
Which is quite a big thing when it comes to Covid.
Heard on a Podcast today that the AFL are unlikely to change their current regs in relation to Covid for the upcoming season.

Squigglies are back for 2023. These are the aggregates at this stage, which probably won't change too much between now and Round 1, given most of the models are usually relatively similar:

So as a couple of others here have mentioned, most models have us around the 5-8 mark, which we feel undersells us a bit. This is what a 12-goal loss in a Preliminary Final does to your rating - the fact that Geelong beat Sydney by even more the following week doesn't come into it. On the balance of probabilities above we have 13 wins, on an absolute basis (green vs red above) we finish with a 15-8 record, which is unlikely to be enough for a top 4 berth. We're gonna need to flip a few of those reds to greens. Tricky start, tough finish.

Traditionally, 4th has oscillated between needing 15 and 16 wins, so it will be interesting to see whether 16-7 cuts it in 2023.

Meanwhile, from a list management perspective, we are, just like our membership slogan, "all in". 3rd oldest list in the comp, the oldest we've ever had - first time our average age has been above 25. Now is our time.
