A small extract for those without access:
AFLPA boss Paul Marsh on Monday told the Herald Sun the players and the player union were firmly against any proposal to trade players against their will.

“They want to reduce player freedom contracts and take away choice of movement and they want us to fund past player liabilities,” Marsh said.

“They put some conditions around that (trading players) – players would have to be earning a certain amount to be able to be traded without consent. But our players just don’t get paid enough to be put in that position.

My son asked we why the AFL comp in SA (SANFL) has national in it. He made the point that all the teams are from Adelaide so it's not really national. I think he makes a good point. Anyone have the answer to that one?

From the SANFL themselves;
Established in 1877 as the South Australian Football Association, SANFL is the oldest State League competition in Australia, one week older than the Victorian Football Association. Renamed the South Australian Football League in 1907, the N was added in 1927 to reflect the national game of Australian Football.

Still makes no sense to me, but that is their reasoning.
Seems like them South Australians getting a bit ahead of themselves if you ask me. :moustache:

We might be in dreadful form but at least we didn’t sell two first rounders, pick 19, and this years future 1 (currently pick 3) for Hopper and Tarranto

Remember some on here tht thought Richmond were a potential top 4 side…

Their recruits have been ok. Draft picks can be overrated at times so it’s ok to bring in a known quantity ver a 18 year old. Richmond didn’t rectify their bigger issues from last year. It was Lynch or nothing up forward last year (Riewoldt seemed to be slowing). Although this game they seemed to have found a few more avenues. Still couldn’t kick a winning score.

Glad they have done it one less team to worry about in the next 5 years. One of them might make sense but not two. They come bottom 4 then GWS are laughing to the bank. Could easily have two top 5 picks and if they get a nice offer for Himmelberg potentially 3 top 10 picks in a super draft

GWS have a yearly rotation of top 10 picks it's not getting them anywhere.

They are stuck in a neverending rebuild

Least this time they are going about it the right way. Had an excess of slow mids got rid of two for a premium. Callaghan is a star in the making he’s now going through the middle, drafted the key forward last year. Potentially 3 top 10 picks this year in a bumper draft

Poor form IMO of Triple M to be posting this clip taking the mickey out of a freelance commentator (Adam White) just trying to do his job.

And typical of BT to be so gracious as to point it out. I just get schoolyard bully vibes from him...

both of them should be put muted forever , absolute henry the 3rds

Just because he's in the box alone doesn't mean he is calling it alone... I wouldn't expect BT & JB to have the brain cells between them to make that connection though.

both are remarkable dullards
