Do you have a link to the article? I can't find anything on Google or the AFL website. Not doubting you, just trying to find the article you referenced.
From the article below:

"For instance, it would have allowed Adelaide to list one of Rory Sloane or Taylor Walker as a veteran for 2024 and opened up another spot on their primary list. The idea was designed to keep veterans in the game without sacrificing a list spot that a youngster may have taken, with the veteran’s full payments still counted in the salary cap."

There's a link in the post above

Jon Ralph reporting the Kangaroo's might offer 14 and a future 1st for pick 11? Presumably there assistant package pick.

It's crazy overs, that why we cant lose holding our f1 for next year now. Either we use it on a possible gun midfielder, trade for a good player or if Welsh turns out to be what we hope then there will be plenty of better deals on offer than we would get now.
I thought that was always going to be on the cards..we are likely going to be gazumped again trying to secure better picks. We could have made a kings ransom had we put pick 9 up for sale - likely ed up with multiple 1sts next year since a big fish has not hit the echo finder

Nah…

I’m definitely with the Colonel on this one..

Dont wanna hear names like Gould, mathieson, draper etc etc..

Or any other reject that cant get a game at their current club.

We’ve got enough of these talentless list cloggers already.

If it aint skilled and classy then dont bother..

I mean I get what you're saying but other clubs dont always get it right, but also theres positional basis to think about.

Lachie O'brien for example from carlton. Plenty good enough to play AFL but Carlton have Acres, Docherty, Hollands etc playing wings and dont have room for him.
(Not saying we would be interested), but theres more to 'rejects' than just not being good enough.

Poulter got delisted, mid season drafted and now has a 2 year deal at the dogs.

Ben Keays has been brilliant for us. Mitch Hinge another.

Oleg Markov also did pretty well

Lynch, Jenkins and Seedsman are another.

Really, I doubt an interstate team can generate the talent to win it all without hitting on some shrewd buys and picking up some good 'rejects'. It just needs to be combined with a good idea of what a side identity is.

Surely not - that would be an atrocious trade.

If they are serious, we should get in using our pick 10 (was 9).

20m sprint
1st: Aiden O'Driscoll - 2.871 seconds
2nd: Will Graham - 2.915
3rd: Caleb Windsor - 2.916
4th: Lance Collard - 2.923
5th: Kane McAuliffe - 2.930
6th: Zane Zakostelsky - 2.954
7th: Phoenix Gothard - 2.963
8th: Taylor Goad - 2.965
9th: Eion McElholm - 2.993
10th: Harry DeMattia - 2.996

impressive numbers for a big guy

The f1 for north would be one of their 2024 end of first round priority pick that they got for free so they probably couldnt really care about losing it.. they need to waste them anyway..

I said it last night..
The crows have no chance of getting 11 from the suns when north are granted all this priority pick garbage.. they have far too strong a hand to compete with.

It just happens to be a year when we have capital to trade up, the AFL make sure other clubs are given more scuppering any likely advantage we have...its like when we were in a position via a very daring trade with Carlton to get in at the top of the draft and grab Noah Anderson, the AFL go..nup, you can go get F***ed, we are giving him to GC

Ok then why don't we say ok North you can have our pick 9 for 14 and next year's F1 compo pick .... and then still go and get 10 with 20 23 26??

It takes North out of the gold coast fight plus we get a future 1st??

Or instead of 10 go get Geelong's 7 with 14 and 20?

yep, I think i might have thrown up that scenario so its there

there's probably nothing to give

there was red dog - no
there was day - no
there was oliver - no

out of targets oh wait there is burgess
I reckon there will be more action than that, but best to do it quietly.

He's learnt from Gibbs...

Definitely this. What we need to realise is our army of 2nd round picks are useless for teams that don’t need to match a bid. Only way we can use them to trade up is trading with Gold Coast. We have to intercept their deal with North.
