Do you have a link to the article? I can't find anything on Google or the AFL website. Not doubting you, just trying to find the article you referenced.
From the article below:

"For instance, it would have allowed Adelaide to list one of Rory Sloane or Taylor Walker as a veteran for 2024 and opened up another spot on their primary list. The idea was designed to keep veterans in the game without sacrificing a list spot that a youngster may have taken, with the veteran’s full payments still counted in the salary cap."

There's a link in the post above

That surname sends shudders down any Crows fan's spine but after Keane looked so handy this year I'm willing to give him go

Pop quiz, hot shots:

Oh i had this guy in mind?
Carl Gallagher - Shameless

Speaking of which, you stated last year that you had only seen four games at Adelaide Oval since 2016 (and two of them were Poort Pear matches). Did you add to your tally this year?

Have you noticed how no one else ever sees the things you claim to be able to see from your own unique vantage point whether at SANFL or AFL games?

One explanation is that you have great ability, observing and processing at a much higher level than anyone else…

Don't post much but just spotted this.

Monaghan’s Karl Gallagher is the latest player to be linked to an AFL club, with Adelaide Crows expected to welcome him for a three-week trial later this month.

Gallagher has been in pursuit of an AFL opening for some time having done the draft combine in 2019, when his testing results were among the best.

Now 21, Gallagher is expected to engage in some of the AFL’s pre-season work as they begin preparations for 2024.
Don't mind this at all. Hopefully we can Cat B him and give him a go.

I think he calls things well. I like his posts, especially on SANFL stuff.

We don't all have the time to do the important analysis on which new account is Alex and hassling posters in general.

Pretty much confirms no trade up?

Unless with trade up we get a late pick along with it.

It leaves us with flexibility. We could still trade up, only take 2 main draftees, and then take an extra rookie, going 37/5, or trade up, then trade back into the draft using 2024 picks. We could even leave a spot open for the SSP.

No surprises that Hamill is 'cut'.

If we took our first two selections in the ND, we would have to promote one of Keane or Parnell to get the minimum 3 ND selections or equivalent, yes?

As well as allowing us to trade pick 20 into the future, that would leave another rookie spot open. Don't mind the 'poach Wingard' idea.

Murray has been upgraded, so he is already the 1st of the 3 necessary selections.
